I'm a multidisciplinary Character Artist, Technical Animator and general game artist with an interest in appealing and memorable characters. My drive to imagine, draw, write, and create has felt innate ever since I can remember. I love to focus on my work independently, thriving in environments with a sense of focus and authenticity.
I grew up on games in the late 1990s and early 2000s, and rediscovered them in my past life as a high school teacher. Realising I could simply combine my lifelong love for art and tech into game design, I made the exciting decision to leave teaching and join the circus (a Bachelor of Games and Interactive Environments at Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia).
Having now completed a Bachelor of Games and Interactive Environments I am now embarking on an Honours project investigating procedural animation and user response thereto.
Learning the wizardry of game art has felt like coming home.
During my seven years as an arts educator, my experience ranged from full-time classroom teaching (Music, English, Art) to co-curricular music and chess, to private music tuition, with students from ages 4 to 54. As it turns out, teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic primes you for superb content creation in general, as well as organisation and time-management skills in a remote and online context.
I also hold a Bachelor of Music (Composition), as well as a Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary).
Hope to hear from you soon!
