Community Guidelines for Rate My Ditch

Rate My Ditch is operated by Alexander Ottolangui, operating under the app studio name Rate My Fav Apps ("we", "us", or "our").
These Community Guidelines explain the rules for content and behaviour in Rate My Ditch. They apply alongside the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Safety Disclaimer, and Moderation and Reporting Policy.
Rate My Ditch is a humorous entertainment app. Humour is welcome, but it must not create real-world safety, privacy, legal, harassment, or abuse risks.

Rate My Ditch allows users to find, create, rate, review, save, and share ditch locations on a map. Depending on the features available to your account, the app may also include profiles, friends, notifications, leaderboards, reporting, blocking, privacy controls, and other social features.
These guidelines apply to all user-generated content and user behaviour connected with the app, including:
· ditch names and descriptions
· ditch ratings, reviews, and review titles
· ditch images and review images
· map locations and coordinates
· usernames, display names, and profile images
· profile and friend-related activity
· reports and use of blocking features
· sharing of ditch links or app content
· any other content or behaviour submitted through or connected with Rate My Ditch
The fact that content is humorous, fictional, exaggerated, or intended as a joke does not exempt it from these guidelines.
Do not use Rate My Ditch to encourage, promote, organise, or glorify unsafe behaviour.
You must not post content that encourages people to:
· sleep in ditches
· drink outdoors because of the app
· enter ditches or other hazardous ground
· trespass or enter private land without permission
· enter restricted areas
· access roadsides, waterways, drains, construction sites, railway areas, hazardous terrain, or other unsafe outdoor locations
· ignore signs, barriers, closures, warnings, or access restrictions
· put themselves or other people at risk
· break local laws or regulations
Rate My Ditch is not safety advice, travel advice, access advice, outdoor-activity advice, or a recommendation to visit any location shown in the app.
You must not submit content that is illegal or that promotes, facilitates, or meaningfully assists illegal activity.
This includes content that encourages or facilitates:
· trespassing
· vandalism, theft, or property damage
· violence or credible threats
· harassment, stalking, or intimidation
· criminal activity
· dangerous illegal behaviour
· attempts to bypass safety, access, privacy, or security restrictions
We may remove or restrict content that creates legal, safety, privacy, moderation, security, or app-integrity risks even where the exact behaviour is not listed above.
You must not use Rate My Ditch to harass, abuse, threaten, bully, shame, stalk, intimidate, or deliberately target another person.
You must not submit content that attacks, degrades, or promotes hatred against people or groups based on protected or personal characteristics, including race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, or similar characteristics.
Do not use ditch names, descriptions, reviews, images, usernames, profiles, friend requests, reports, or map locations to target or intimidate another person.
Repeated unwanted friend requests, attempts to reconnect after being blocked, coordinated harassment, or using multiple accounts to continue unwanted contact may be treated as abuse.
Do not upload, publish, or share private or personal information about another person without permission.
This includes:
· home addresses or precise private locations
· phone numbers
· email addresses
· workplace or school details
· private social-media details
· identifying images shared without permission
· information intended to identify, track, expose, intimidate, or harass someone
Do not create a ditch, review, profile, or map entry for the purpose of identifying or targeting a person, home, workplace, school, or other sensitive private location.
You should also avoid uploading sensitive personal information about yourself. Public content may be seen by other users, and content legitimately visible to another user may be copied or shared outside the app.
Do not upload or submit explicit sexual content, pornographic material, sexual images, graphic sexual descriptions, or content whose main purpose is sexual gratification.
Rate My Ditch is an 18+ humorous entertainment app, but it is not intended to host explicit sexual content.
Do not upload or submit content that encourages, celebrates, or graphically depicts serious harm, injury, dangerous behaviour, or distressing material in a way that creates a safety or abuse risk.
This includes content involving:
· serious injury or graphic violence
· self-harm or suicide encouragement
· dangerous dares or challenges
· unsafe entry into hazardous places
· serious accidents
· cruelty or serious harm to people or animals
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency services. In the United Kingdom, call 999 in an emergency. Rate My Ditch is not an emergency service.
You must not deliberately create fake, misleading, malicious, or harmful ditch entries.
Do not create locations that:
· falsely identify private property as publicly accessible
· encourage users to enter unsafe, closed, restricted, or private places
· target a person, home, workplace, school, or private address
· are designed to harass, prank, endanger, or deceive another person
· use deliberately false coordinates or descriptions to send users somewhere unsafe or inappropriate
· misrepresent access, ownership, hazards, or restrictions in a way that could create a real-world risk
Humour, exaggeration, and jokes are allowed, but they must not create real-world safety, privacy, legal, or harassment risks.
Reviews and ratings should be genuine contributions to the Rate My Ditch experience. Do not manipulate ratings, reviews, favourites, rankings, or leaderboard results.
Prohibited behaviour includes:
· fake or fabricated reviews
· coordinated rating manipulation
· using multiple accounts to influence scores or rankings
· automated voting or reviewing
· repeated duplicate reviews or submissions intended to distort results
· offering incentives in exchange for misleading ratings or reviews
Calculated ratings, review counts, rankings, and leaderboard positions may change when content is edited, deleted, moderated, or removed.
Do not use Rate My Ditch to spam users, promote scams, distribute malicious material, or interfere with the service.
This includes:
· repeated duplicate or irrelevant content
· irrelevant promotional or advertising content
· scams, phishing, or deceptive links
· malware or harmful files
· automated or bot activity that abuses the service
· attempts to overload, scrape, probe, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the app or its security controls without permission
· attempts to bypass authentication, privacy settings, Firestore rules, visibility restrictions, moderation, or blocking
· false or malicious reports intended to harass another user or misuse the moderation process
Only upload content that you own, created, or have permission or another lawful basis to use.
Do not upload images, text, names, logos, or other material that infringes another person's copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
If you believe content in Rate My Ditch infringes your rights, use the available reporting tools where appropriate or contact ratemyditch@gmail.com with enough information to identify the material and explain your concern.
Profile images, usernames, display names, public-profile information, friend requests, and friendship activity must follow these Community Guidelines.
Do not use profile or friend features to:
· impersonate another person, business, organisation, or service
· harass, stalk, threaten, or target another person
· display explicit sexual, hateful, abusive, or illegal content
· share private information
· mislead users about who you are
· repeatedly send unwanted friend requests
· evade a block, removal, privacy setting, or other user boundary
Users may be able to choose Public, Friends-only, or Private profile visibility and separately control whether they accept friend requests. Respect those choices.
Blocking is a user-level safety and privacy control. Do not attempt to circumvent another user's block by creating another account, using another person's account, or otherwise trying to regain unwanted access.
Where the feature is available, ditch creators may choose between Public and Friends-only visibility.
Public ditches may be discoverable and viewable by users of the app, including guest users where guest access is supported. Friends-only ditches are intended to be available only to the creator and accepted friends.
A Friends-only ditch may have a share link, but sharing or forwarding that link does not make the ditch Public and does not grant access to someone who is not otherwise authorised.
Do not attempt to bypass Friends-only access controls or use a shared link, copied identifier, alternate account, technical workaround, or other method to access protected content that you are not authorised to view.
If you are authorised to view Friends-only content, respect the creator's privacy choice. Do not repost, publish, or redistribute protected ditch details outside the intended audience without permission, especially where doing so could create privacy, safety, harassment, or legal risks.
Creators are responsible for choosing an appropriate visibility setting for content they submit. Even with Friends-only access, do not upload highly sensitive or confidential information.
Rate My Ditch provides in-app reporting for supported ditches, reviews, and users. Reports can be used for concerns such as offensive or abusive content, unsafe locations, spam or fake content, inappropriate images, personal information, or other issues.
When submitting a report, provide enough information for the issue to be identified and reviewed. Optional additional details can be used to explain the concern.
You may also contact ratemyditch@gmail.com if you cannot use the in-app reporting flow, need to provide additional context, or need to follow up on a safety or moderation issue.
Do not knowingly submit false, retaliatory, malicious, or spam reports.
Signed-in users may also be able to block other users. Blocking may affect friendships, pending friend requests, and what content is shown to the person who applied the block. Blocking is not the same as reporting: a block is primarily a user-level control, while a report asks Rate My Ditch to review content or behaviour.
Rate My Ditch currently uses manual moderation. When content or behaviour appears to violate these guidelines, the Terms of Use, the Safety Disclaimer, the Moderation and Reporting Policy, applicable law, or creates a material risk, we may take action including:
· removing or hiding content
· deleting reviews or ditch locations
· removing images
· restricting access to app features
· restricting, suspending, or removing accounts
· preserving limited information where needed for safety, legal, security, fraud-prevention, abuse-prevention, moderation, dispute-resolution, or app-integrity reasons
We may also remove or restrict content that creates a significant safety, privacy, legal, moderation, or app-integrity risk even if the exact issue is not specifically listed in these guidelines.
Submitting a report does not guarantee that content will be removed or that account action will be taken. Moderation decisions depend on the available information, context, applicable rules, and the nature of the risk.
Moderation is currently manual. We do not review every item of content before it appears and cannot guarantee that all inappropriate, unsafe, inaccurate, unlawful, or harmful content will be found or removed immediately.
User-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, misleading, offensive, or unsafe. The presence of content in the app does not mean that Rate My Ditch has verified, approved, or endorsed it.
Users should use their own judgement, respect access and privacy controls, avoid unsafe or unlawful situations, and report concerning content when appropriate.
We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time to reflect changes to the app, our moderation practices, safety controls, legal requirements, or third-party services.
If we make significant changes, we may notify users in the app or by another appropriate method. The latest version should be available through the app or the Rate My Ditch public support site.
