The Traffic and Parking Plan for the 2025 Woodbridge Cross Country Classic
***** Individuals coming to the Great Park must Avoid exiting Interstate 5 at Sand Canyon off ramp at all times!
1. All parking passes ($ 20.00) must be purchased online prior to arriving at the Great Park. No parking passes will be sold at the different Great Park lots.
2. It is Extremely Important that everyone that will attend this event (coaches, family members, spectators) follows the driving directions to the Great Park and the different lots in the attachment and links provided below rather than those they can get from Apps like Google Maps, Waze, etc. etc.
3. Buses will drop off and pick up teams in parking lot # 1 on Phantom Road. Bus driving directions are attached. Bus staging directions (about 10 minutes away) will be provided when they drop off. Coordinate pick up via phone call when your team is ready to go home.
4. All vehicles (including school vans) will park in lots 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, Civic Lot, Wild Rivers Lot or Portola High School (bus shuttle service available) with a $ 20.00 pass purchased online.

MEDALS is top 100 in each race (Novice races receive NO medals)
1. Make sure you have the correct bib that corresponds to your name!
2. Pin your bib numbers on the front and above belly button height, but not too high
3. DO NOT just drop safety pins on the ground--keep them or give them back to your coach
4. DO NOT stop your watch as you cross the finish line; it blocks the chip from being read AND it hides the bib numbers from the camera!
5. NOVICE RACES Any runner that runs 24:00 minutes or slower should race in the Novice Races. This gives you the chance to get a time in the meet (we time to 24:00 in the regular races). And you get a better experience by racing against same ability level runners and not get lapped!
BRING your warm-up (top & bottom) because it may get down to 62 degrees

In recent years, we have had competitors that were in no way fit enough to handle the demands of cross country running, let alone our course.
The Safety Gate policy was created to protect the health and safety of competitors who:
Clearly are not fit enough to finish the race on race day.
May not have the proper conditioning on race day to handle the second and most difficult half of the course without medical attention.
Are most likely to require medical attention, which in turn will place stress on our local EMS system.
The Safety Gate is located behind the stadium at the back side of Switchbacks Hill, approximately 1.4 miles into the race. This is a location, where athletes can be discreetly directed off the course and to their team camps.
The cut-off times listed below are very generous. Years of data supports our claim that a runner who fails to reach the safety gate by the times listed below, will have a much higher likelihood to require Medical Attention.
At times, illness or injury may hamper a runner’s ability to compete at their normal proficiency. Although we understand this situation, we feel strongly that a runner in this situation should not be competing under these circumstances. Our extensive charting/research of past medical issues indicate that runners who struggle in the first half of the race are most likely to require emergency medical attention. Our number one priority is the safety of all of our competitors. Since implementing this policy, the number of severe medical issues has drastically decreased.
Safety Gate Cut-Off Times
