Queens Theatre Troupe presents Hedda Gabler by Henrik Ibsen. 

Hedda Gabler has married George Tesman. She should be happy with an ideal house, a successful writer husband, and access to the high circles of late 19th-century Norwegian society—isn’t she? 

Henrik Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler, published in 1890, depicts a deeply dissatisfied woman whose marriage demands the perfect housewife; something Hedda is not. Characters from Hedda’s past put pressure on her current situation, and a promising new manuscript from an old lover threatens her husband’s professional career. 

As a forerunner of realism in modernist theatre, Hedda Gabler shows how one woman will puppet the lives of others when given the tools of feminine manipulation, high social standing, and access to her father’s prized pistols.

The show starts at 7:00 PM every day except for the 9th and 10th, wherein there will be matinees at 1:00PM in addition to evening shows. Each performance of Hedda Gabler will have a brief 10 minute intermission.

November 7th will be a relaxed performance, and the 8th will be a masks-encouraged show.
