Queen's Theatre Troupe Presents
Queen's Theatre Troupe Presents
by Sky Gilbert
Innocent? Guilty? Drag Queen?! Listen to the testimony of three drag queens, persecuted for daring to be different. Come have fun in this campy raunchy courtroom melodrama as these outcasts explore what it means to deny conformity and live as their authentic selves.
Sky Gilbert's 2006 play centres around three drag queens who must defend themselves against society. First produced in 1985, Drag Queens On Trial centres around Lana Lust, Marlene Delorme, and Judy Goose, who are each called up to the stand and invent fantastic, elaborate histories to defend themselves against questioning.
Drag Queens On Trial will be performed in Convocation Hall, in Theological Hall, located at 10-14 Professors' Walk. Shows will run from April 3rd to 5th, with a preview on April 2nd. Showtimes are 7:30pm each night, with the exception of a 2pm matinee show on April 5th. The show's runtime is approximately 90 minutes with a 15-minute intermission.
A Relaxed Performance will occur on Saturday April 5th at 2pm. This performance is designed to create a more inclusive and comfortable environment, featuring reduced lighting and sound levels to minimize sensory stimulation.Â
Optional Zoom Captions will be available at every performance. There will also be masks available at every performance.
