Life is A Dream

Kyra Mevis is the Dramaturg for Queens Theatre Troupe's premier show: Life is a Dream written by Pedro Calderón de la Barca, adapted and directed by Elsa McKnight in Fall 2023. Kyra is collaborating with Elsa McKnight and DAN School Professor Dr. Kelsey Jacobson to have their Dramaturgical research enrich the experience of all those involved in Life is a Dream, Drama students who are or have studied the play, as well as Queens Theatre Troupe audience members. Some of their ongoing work includes:

• Creating an Acting Guide to supplement and support the cast’s process. 

• Researching other historically appropriate and thematically relevant plays to include in the Life is a Dream script as a metatextual moment. 

• Creating educational Front of House content discussing the work of Pedro Calderón de la Barca and his relevance today. 

• Preparing an educational presentation for Dr. Kelsey Jacobson’s DRAM 200 class.
