Here, the wafer-scale production of p-type nanosheet transistors with pure edge contacts by leveraging the alloying-mediated phase engineering of 2D MoTe2 is demonstrated.

2025-10-14. Our Quantum Semiconductors Lab held a joint workshop with the Active Soft Materials & Robots Lab from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at SKKU to explore interdisciplinary research opportunities.
The discussion led to a plan to initiate a collaborative project on ionic gel–based, damage-free transfer of 2D materials, combining expertise in soft materials and van der Waals semiconductor technologies for next-generation electronic and robotic applications.

His research mainly focuses on investigation of quantum phase metal-insulator transition, metallic transport properties and critical phenomena in 2D materials.
2025-07-31. We are excited to announce that our lab has begun collaborative research with the University of Cambridge through the IBS Global Partner Lab. (2025.08-2031.7)
Our lab, as a participating group in the Institute for Basic Science (IBS) Center for 2D Quantum Heterostructure (2DQH), is pleased to share that IBS-2DQH has established a Global Partner Lab at the University of Cambridge’s Cavendish Laboratory. We will collaborate with Cambridge researchers on advanced studies in 2D quantum heterostructures, focusing on spin qubit control and magnetic quantum crystal structures for precision quantum control and integration technologies.
2025-07-15. From July 15 to 17, 2025, we joined the IBS 2D Quantum Heterostructures (2DQH) 2025 Summer Workshop held at Vivaldi Park in Hongcheon.
Over the three-day event, we shared our current research and discussed future research plans with other faculty members, helping to build collaboration and exchange ideas within the 2DQH center. After the workshop, our group enjoyed a friendly dinner together to strengthen teamwork and connections.

We have been granted a national research project titled “Development of Quantum Phase Transition Non-Volatile Control Technology via Large-Area van der Waals Ferroelectric Transistors,” funded by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Research Foundation of Korea under the Basic Research Program in Science and Engineering (Individual Research Program), with the project period running from March 2025 to February 2030.

We have been selected for a national research infrastructure project titled “Establishment of a Cold-Wall Metal–Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition System for the Development of Quantum Semimetal Synthesis Technology,” funded under the Young Researcher Infrastructure Support Program of the Basic Research Program (Individual) by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Basic Science Institute, with the support period from March 1, 2025 to February 28, 2026.
