𝑻𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒈 𝑪𝒊𝒕𝒚, 𝑺𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒂𝒐 𝒅𝒆𝒍 𝑺𝒖𝒓 - The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority

(TESDA) – Surigao del Sur, in partnership with the Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office (SDSPPO), successfully concluded a Training of Trainers (TOT) on Basic Community Training from July 22 to 25, 2025, held at Camp Hon. Vicente L. Pimentel Sr., Tandag City.

This collaborative initiative equipped Revitalized Pulis sa Barangay (R-PSB) personnel of SDSPPO with the competencies necessary to facilitate community-based training and skills development programs, aligning with TESDA’s mission to empower communities through practical and inclusive technical-vocational education. Provincial Director Romel M. Natad, MIE, of TESDA Surigao del Sur, emphasized the role of TOT programs in strengthening local capacity. “This partnership with SDSPPO allows us to bring TESDA’s community-based approach to new platforms. By equipping our police partners with technical skills and training methodologies, we can extend the reach of TESDA programs and create more resilient and skill ready communities.”

The training, conducted by the Provincial Training Center of Surigao del Sur, covered effective communication, community engagement, basic first aid, disaster preparedness, and conflict resolution, tailored to meet the needs of barangay-level initiatives. Participants are now poised to cascade these skills to various local communities, reinforcing TESDA’s advocacy for grassroots empowerment and sustainable development. TESDA acknowledges the leadership of PCOL Jeffrey Lawrence D. Mauricio, OIC Provincial Director of SDSPPO, and commends all participating personnel for their commitment to public service and skills advancement.
