Applying EDCC10 at checkout takes 10% off the plan price shown in the Airalo store. It does not change the data allowance, the validity window or anything about how the eSIM behaves once it is on your phone. That second part is where most of the day-to-day work sits: an Airalo eSIM sits alongside your existing home SIM or eSIM, and your phone then has two lines to manage.
To get the discount in place first, sign in to your Airalo account at airalo.com or in the app, open the destination plan and check its data allowance and validity, press Buy Now, expand the promo code row on the order summary or payment screen, and type EDCC10 exactly with no spaces. Apply it, confirm a discount line appears and the total drops by 10%, then pay by card or wallet. The code has to be applied before payment; it cannot be added to a completed order afterwards, and there is no reliable route to having 10% credited back later.
Installation needs an internet connection, so do it at home over Wi-Fi rather than hunting for airport signal. Purchased plans appear under My eSIMs, where you can use direct install or the QR code with its SM-DP+ address and activation code.
Once installed, leave the Airalo line switched off. Plan validity generally starts when the eSIM first connects to a network at the destination rather than at purchase, though some descriptions put the start at installation, so keeping the line dormant until you land is the cautious approach. Your home line stays as it is during this stage.
On landing, select the Airalo line and enable Data Roaming for that line only. That phrasing matters when two lines are present: the Airalo profile needs roaming enabled to connect to its local partner network, while your home line is the one you generally do not want quietly fetching data abroad. Your phone's line settings will also let you choose which line carries mobile data.
If nothing connects, toggle airplane mode off and on, or manually select a partner network in your phone's carrier settings.
Most Airalo packages are data-only, with no local phone number and no traditional SMS. Some plans do include a number, and the plan detail page is the place to confirm that before you buy. In practice, on a two-line phone this means calls and texts continue to run through your home line and its usual charges, while the Airalo line handles data. Messaging and calling apps that work over data will use the Airalo plan.
Because the discount applies only to the plan price, it has no bearing on what your home carrier charges for any call or text you make on the other line.
Top-ups are bought from My eSIMs rather than by purchasing a fresh profile, so the installed line and its settings stay as they are. Whether EDCC10 is eligible on top-ups is not published; the way to find out is to try applying it and see whether the total changes. Eligibility on store credit and gift-card purchases can also differ.
Unused data does not roll over once the validity window closes, so sizing the plan sensibly matters more than the 10% itself. Plans are typically priced in single or low double-digit dollars, with about $5 cited for a small plan and around $20 for a mid-sized regional plan.
The phone must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked; a carrier-locked handset may simply refuse a third-party profile, leaving you with one line and a paid-for eSIM you cannot use. Compatible devices generally include iPhones from the XS generation onwards, recent Google Pixels, and Samsung Galaxy S and Z flagships, and Airalo publishes a compatible device list on its site. Refunds on a discounted order return the amount paid rather than the pre-discount price, and the voucher does not come back.
