A discount code and a working eSIM are two separate things. EDCC10 takes 10% off the plan price shown in the Airalo store, and it only does that if it is entered in the promo code field on the order summary or payment screen before you pay. Once the payment goes through and the receipt lands in your inbox, the code has done its job: it cannot be added retroactively to a completed order, and there is no reliable route to having 10% credited back afterwards. Everything that follows \u2014 installation, roaming settings, first connection \u2014 is unaffected by the discount, but it is the part that decides whether you actually have data when you land.
The sequence is straightforward. Sign in to an Airalo account at airalo.com or in the app, open the destination plan you want and check the data allowance and validity window, then press Buy Now. On the payment screen, expand the promo code row \u2014 a tappable row with a tag or ticket icon in the app, a text box in the order summary panel on the web \u2014 and enter EDCC10 exactly, with no spaces. Apply it, confirm a discount line appears and the total falls by 10%, then pay by card or wallet. Payment methods include cards and, depending on region, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal.
The purchased eSIM then appears under My eSIMs. There is no physical shipping; delivery is a QR code or a direct install link, with an SM-DP+ address and activation code as the manual alternative.
Installation requires an internet connection, which is why installing at home over Wi-Fi is the recommended approach rather than hunting for airport signal. Install the profile, then leave the Airalo line switched off until you arrive. That keeps the line dormant while you are still on your home network.
This matters for validity. Plan validity generally starts when the eSIM first connects to a network at the destination rather than at the moment of purchase, although some sources describe validity as starting at installation and it can differ by plan \u2014 the plan detail page is the place to check. Either way, installing early and connecting late is the safer order of operations.
On arrival, select the Airalo line and enable Data Roaming for that line only. Leaving roaming off for your home line is what keeps you out of your carrier's roaming charges while the Airalo profile carries your data.
If no signal appears, two standard troubleshooting steps apply: toggle airplane mode on and off, or manually select a partner network rather than waiting for automatic selection. A carrier-locked handset is a separate problem \u2014 the device must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked, since locked phones may refuse third-party profiles. Compatible devices generally include iPhones from the XS generation onwards, recent Google Pixels, and Samsung Galaxy S and Z flagships, and Airalo publishes a compatible device list on its site.
The discount reduces the plan price and nothing else. It does not add data allowance, does not extend the validity window, and unused data does not roll over when that window closes. Most Airalo packages are data-only, with no local phone number or traditional SMS; some plans do include a number, which the plan detail page will state. Bank foreign transaction fees and exchange rates sit outside checkout and are not reduced by the code.
If you need more data mid-trip, top-ups are bought from My eSIMs rather than by buying a new profile. Whether top-ups count as eligible orders for EDCC10 is not published, so watch whether the total actually changes when you apply it.
The exact expiry date of EDCC10 is not stated externally, nor is it confirmed whether it is single-use per account, whether it applies to first purchases only, whether any minimum order value applies, or whether particular package types are excluded. Codes on the platform are typically single-use per account, and the safe assumption is one code per order with no stacking against other offers. Creating duplicate accounts to reuse a single-use voucher breaches retailer terms and risks the accounts.
