Not every eSIM is bought weeks ahead. Plenty of travellers remember data only once the bags are packed, or while sitting at the gate. Airalo suits that situation because there is no physical shipping: delivery is a QR code or a direct install link, and the purchased plan appears under My eSIMs in the app. The discount code EDCC10 takes 10% off the plan price shown in the store, and it can be applied in the same rushed checkout as any other order, provided you enter it before you pay.
What a rushed purchase changes is not the discount, but how much margin you have for error. The steps below put the time-sensitive parts first.
Three things cannot be fixed at the payment screen:
Device eligibility. The phone must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. Carrier-locked handsets may refuse third-party profiles. Compatible devices generally include iPhones from the XS generation onwards, recent Google Pixels, and Samsung Galaxy S and Z flagships; Airalo publishes a compatible device list on its site.
An account. Sign-in is available by email, Google or Apple. An account is needed in practice so the eSIM can be reinstalled or topped up later, and it is easier to create before you start the purchase than mid-flow.
The right plan. Local eSIMs cover one country, regional eSIMs a group such as Europe or Asia, global eSIMs a long list of destinations. Check the data allowance and validity window on the plan page, and whether the package includes a phone number, since most Airalo packages are data-only with no local number or traditional SMS.
Open the destination plan and press Buy Now to reach the order summary or payment screen.
Find the promo code field. In the app it is a tappable row with a tag or ticket icon above the total; on the web it is a text box in the order summary panel.
Type EDCC10 exactly, with no spaces, and apply it.
Look for a discount line and confirm the total has dropped by 10% before you authorise payment.
Pay by card, or by Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal where those are offered in your region. A receipt is emailed.
The confirmation step matters most when you are hurrying. The code cannot be added retroactively to a completed order, and there is no reliable route to having 10% credited back after paying full price. If the total does not move, stop and check the entry rather than pushing the payment through.
Installation requires an internet connection, which is why installing over home Wi-Fi is the usual advice. If you are already travelling, airport or lounge Wi-Fi serves the same purpose: open My eSIMs and use direct install, or the QR code with its SM-DP+ address and activation code. Keep the line switched off until you arrive. On landing, select the Airalo line and enable Data Roaming for that line only. If no signal appears, toggle airplane mode or manually select a partner network.
Plan validity generally begins when the eSIM first connects to a network at the destination rather than at the moment of purchase, so buying at the gate does not usually burn days. Unused data does not roll over once the validity window closes, so a panic upgrade to a larger package is not automatically money well spent.
Assume one code per order, and that codes do not stack with other offers or active sales. Codes on the platform are typically single-use per account; whether EDCC10 is single-use or reusable, whether it covers repeat purchases or top-ups, and whether any minimum order applies are not published externally. Top-ups are bought from My eSIMs rather than by buying a new profile, and eligibility there can differ, so watch the total. Bank foreign transaction fees and exchange rates sit outside checkout and are not reduced by the code. If a discounted order is refunded, you get back the amount paid, not the pre-discount price, and the voucher does not return.
