Airalo sells prepaid data plans, but it also sells store credit and gift cards, and the two behave differently at checkout. A plan is a product with a fixed data allowance and validity window, usually priced in single or low double-digit dollars — roughly $5 for a small package, around $20 for a mid-sized regional one. Store credit and gift cards are not plans; they are a balance you load and spend later. The coupon EDCC10 gives 10% off, but Airalo's published terms note that eligibility on top-ups and on credit or gift-card purchases can differ from eligibility on a straightforward plan purchase. That difference is worth understanding before you assume the discount will land.
The code field appears on the order summary or payment screen, reached after you select a plan and press Buy Now. In the app it is a tappable row marked with a tag or ticket icon sitting above the total; on the web it is a text box in the order summary panel. Whatever you are buying, that is the only place a code can be entered. A code cannot be added retroactively to a completed order, and there is no reliable way to get 10% credited back after paying full price.
Airalo does not publish whether EDCC10 works on credit or gift-card purchases, on top-ups, or only on standard new eSIM purchases. Promotional codes are generally intended for new eSIM purchases through standard checkout, so treat anything else as unverified. The practical method is to test it on the screen:
Sign in to your Airalo account at airalo.com or in the app before starting.
Choose the item you want — a plan, a top-up from My eSIMs, or a credit or gift-card purchase.
Press Buy Now to reach the order summary.
Expand the promo code row and type EDCC10 exactly, with no spaces.
Apply it and look for a discount line, then check that the total has actually dropped by 10%.
Only complete payment if the maths is right.
If no discount line appears, or the total is unchanged, the item is not eligible and the sensible move is to buy a plan directly instead.
Airalo runs its own in-app referral scheme that gives credit to both sides, and store credit can also be bought outright. Whether that balance can be combined with a promotional code in one transaction is not stated in advance. The platform shows you the answer on the payment screen when you try: if the credit and the discount both appear as separate lines and the total reflects both, they have stacked. Beyond that, assume one code per order and assume codes do not stack with other offers or active sales.
The discount applies to the plan price shown in the store. It does not increase the data allowance, extend the validity window, or reduce anything outside checkout — bank foreign transaction fees and exchange rates are unaffected. Unused data does not roll over when validity ends. Codes on the platform are typically single-use per account, and creating duplicate accounts to reuse one breaches retailer terms and risks the accounts.
If a discounted order is refunded or charged back, you get the amount paid, not the pre-discount price, and the voucher itself does not return. That matters more when credit is involved, because the money you spent on credit and the money you spent on a discounted plan are separate transactions with separate paper trails. Keep the emailed receipt for each.
Buy the plan you actually need, apply EDCC10 to that purchase, and treat credit or gift cards as a separate decision rather than a way to bank the discount. Confirm data allowance and validity on the plan page first, install over home Wi-Fi via direct install or the QR code and SM-DP+ details in My eSIMs, keep the line off until arrival, then enable Data Roaming for that line only once you land.
