The Department of Civil Engineering, National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training & Research (NITTTR), Kolkata, proudly announces the organization of a six-day online workshop on “Waste to Wealth Innovation” under the theme “Energy, Sustainability & Climate Change”, scheduled to be held from 2nd to 7th December 2024. This workshop, organized for the first time at NITTTR Kolkata under the ATAL Faculty Development Programme (FDP) scheme, is coordinated by Prof. Naveen B. P. The programme aims to provide a vibrant platform for faculty members, researchers, and professionals to exchange knowledge and explore innovative approaches that transform waste into valuable resources, promoting sustainable development and environmental stewardship.
AICTE-VAANI Workshop
Prof. Naveen B. P. organized a two-day workshop at the National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research (NITTTR), Kolkata, on “Waste to Energy” under the theme “Energy, Sustainability & Climate Change”, held from 29th to 30th July 2024. The event was conducted under the AICTE-VAANI (Vibrant Advocacy for Advancement and Nurturing of Indian Languages) scheme in Odia language. The AICTE-VAANI initiative aims to promote the use of Indian languages among educators and learners to enrich the teaching and learning experience, emphasizing the importance of regional languages and mother tongues in preserving and nurturing the nation’s cultural diversity. This workshop marks the first-ever event of its kind organized at NITTTR Kolkata under the AICTE-VAANI scheme.
Industry Academic Conclave-2024
The National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research (NITTTR), Kolkata, in association with Government Polytechnic, Bhubaneswar, successfully hosted the “Industry–Academia Conclave 2024” from 8th to 9th August 2024 at the Bhubaneswar Extension Centre, Odisha. The conclave served as a unique platform bringing together experts from academia and industry to discuss, collaborate, and explore new opportunities in research, development, and innovation. It fostered mutual learning, idea exchange, and the creation of synergies aimed at strengthening the Technical Education System of the Eastern Region. The event was organized by Prof. Naveen B. P. and marked a significant milestone as the first-ever Industry–Academia Conclave organized by NITTTR Kolkata.

The National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research (NITTTR), Kolkata – Extension Centre, Guwahati, is proud to announce the Academia–Industry Conclave (AIC) 2025, scheduled to be held on 20th–21st February 2025 at PCPS Girls’ Polytechnic, Bamunimaidam, Guwahati, Assam. The conclave aims to create a vibrant forum where experts from academia and industry can convene to discuss, collaborate, and explore emerging avenues in research, development, and innovation. It will serve as a dynamic platform for mutual learning, knowledge exchange, and the development of synergies between these two vital sectors, contributing significantly to the strengthening of the Technical Education System in the Eastern Region. National Education and Leadership Conclave 2026
The National Education and Leadership Conclave 2026, organized by the National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training & Research (NITTTR), Kolkata, is scheduled to be held on 25th February 2026. The conclave aims to bring together academicians, education leaders, administrators, and professionals to deliberate on contemporary developments, leadership practices, and transformative initiatives in education, within the context of the evolving national and global educational landscape.
Aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the conclave will serve as a platform for thought leadership, knowledge sharing, and collaborative dialogue through expert talks and panel discussions on key issues impacting educational institutions and leadership.
The Chief Guest, Prof. T.G. Sitharam, Former Chairman of AICTE and Former Director of IIT Guwahati, delivered an inspiring keynote on “Empowering Young Minds for a Viksit Bharat.” He emphasized visionary leadership, innovation-led education, strong industry–academia collaboration, and youth empowerment as essential pillars for elevating India’s global standing in technical education. His address set a powerful tone for transformative and accountable leadership.
With the divine blessings of Maa Mahakali, Prof. Naveen BP conceptualized and executed the conclave with exceptional foresight, clarity, and strategic depth. As the principal architect of the event, he transformed a visionary idea into a nationally significant academic platform.

AILS 2026: Transforming Vision into Reality
The National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research (NITTTR), Kolkata, successfully hosted the AI Leadership Summit (AILS) 2026 on 30–31 July 2026 under the theme “Shaping Intelligent Futures.” With more than 550 participants from academia, industry, research and education, the summit marked a significant milestone in the Institute’s journey towards AI-driven technical education and innovation.
A major highlight of AILS 2026 was the vision and dedicated efforts of Prof. B. P. Naveen, whose commitment helped transform an ambitious idea into a nationally visible platform. From conceptualization and meticulous planning to stakeholder engagement, industry outreach and mobilisation of sponsorship, Prof. Naveen played a pivotal role in scaling the event and creating meaningful academia–industry partnerships.
His persistent efforts in approaching industry organizations and securing sponsorship support strengthened the financial and professional foundation of the summit, enabling NITTTR Kolkata to host a high-impact national-level event. The participation of eminent academicians, industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, faculty members and students further enhanced the Institute’s visibility and reputation.
AILS 2026 also provided the foundation for NITTTR Kolkata’s vision of establishing a Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence, aligned with Digital India and Viksit Bharat 2047. The subsequent development of AI-focused skill initiatives through the Centre for Integrated Skill Development (CISD) further demonstrates how the summit’s vision is being converted into concrete institutional outcomes.
