For this project, I had to collect samples of different media types from Creative Commons and credit them accordingly.
This is a photograph I took in Iceland from the Laugavegur trail. I used GIMP to add the text "Fjarlægðin gerir fjöllin blá " which translates to "Distance makes the mountains blue." Similar to the American expression, "distance makes the heart grow fonder," it means that "the further removed you are from something, the more beautiful it appears in your mind. So when you travel a long way from your home, you start missing it more, or the more time passes from an event, you get more nostalgic about it."
I resized the image to make it smaller and then exported it as a JPEG. I'm sharing this image under the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 License. I learned the saying from Icelandic Proverbs & Sayings.
To the left is a sample audio file called Glass Bass. I selected it because it reminded me of a TikTok clip.
I downloaded this audio file which is a mps and then uploaded it to my Google Drive so I could embed it on the website.

This is an example of an animated gif I found on DeviantArt.
An animated gif is an image file that contains different frames of an image shown in sequence to simulate motion.
This animated give was saved from DeviantArt and then uploaded to my website.
I could not find any licensing information or sharing limitations, so I will credit and link to the original source and follow the TASL rule of thumb, which stands for Title, Author, Source, and License.

This is an example of an embedded video.
The video is about Digital media and how the lines have been blurred between the physical and the digital world.
I embedded this from YouTube, which offered embed code, but there was no usage policy or licensing information.
According to the about page for TedTalks:

I learned so much doing this project! First, all the different media types. I never really gave it much thought before. Secondly, how to include different media types and share them. And lastly, I learned about the creative commons and correctly crediting the media I find and use.
