In accordance with the COPE Retraction Guidelines, which are followed by the editorial board of the journal "Proceedings of the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine", an article may be retracted for the following reasons:
Unreliable conclusions based on clear evidence of misconduct (e.g. fraudulent use of data) or honest error (e.g. miscalculation or experimental error).
Duplicate publication, for example, findings that have previously been published elsewhere without appropriate cross-references, permission or justification.
Plagiarism or other forms of unethical research or misconduct.
We use the EASE Retraction Form for the retraction process.
Retraction shall take place after the journal’s editors have carefully considered the requests received from the editor(s), author(s) or reader(s). (For further details on the procedure for considering requests, see the section ‘Complaints and appeals’)
If, following an investigation into such a complaint, it is found that:
the findings are unreliable or based on a significant error (e.g. a miscalculation or experimental error), or the result of fabrication (e.g. manipulation of images);
the text contains plagiarism;
the findings have previously been published elsewhere without proper citation of prior sources or disclosure to the editor, permission for republication, or justification (i.e. there is a case of duplicate publication);
the text contains material or data without obtaining the necessary permission for use;
copyright has been infringed or another significant violation of rights has been identified (e.g., defamation, breach of confidentiality, etc.);
the research is unethical;
publication took place solely on the basis of a compromised or manipulative peer-review process;
the author(s) failed to disclose to the editorial board a significant conflict of interest which, in the opinion of the editor-in-chief, could have substantially influenced the evaluation of the work or the recommendations of the editors and reviewers.
The PDF file of the retracted article remains on the website but bears a clear watermark with the note ‘Retracted’ on every page.
The journal’s editors should consider publishing a statement of concern on the journal’s website if there is evidence of:
misconduct by the authors during the research or publication process;
the unreliability of the authors’ conclusions, but the institution or organisation with which the authors are affiliated does not intend to investigate the matter or does not have an appropriate, duly established procedure for doing so;
an investigation into a breach of academic integrity is ongoing, but there are reasonable grounds to believe that a decision will not be reached for a considerable period of time.
