The editorial board of the journal “Proceedings of the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine” adheres to the principles of academic integrity, in particular the norms and provisions defined by the Law of Ukraine “On Academic Integrity,” the relevant provisions of the Law of Ukraine “On Education,” and other regulatory acts related to its field of activity.
The journal’s editorial policy on ensuring academic integrity is based on the principles of responsible research conduct, which include:
adherence to the principles of honest scientific research: the results presented in a manuscript must be obtained through the author’s independent scholarly work, without falsification, manipulation, or distortion;
respect for intellectual property rights: by submitting a manuscript, the author confirms that the materials do not violate existing copyright, and all borrowed elements (text, tables, figures, photographs, etc.) must be properly referenced;
the principle of openness: the journal supports an open access policy for research results, promoting the development of scientific dialogue and the dissemination of knowledge;
objectivity of peer review: reviewers conduct impartial expert evaluation of manuscripts aimed at improving their scientific quality;
equal opportunities: the editorial board guarantees equal conditions for all authors regardless of their academic status, positions, or titles.
All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo mandatory screening for textual overlap using specialized plagiarism detection software. In cases of suspected violations, the editorial board conducts additional verification, requests explanations from the authors, and makes an editorial decision depending on the nature of the violation. Individuals concerned by a complaint have the right to provide a written explanation. All parties have equal rights to be heard. The review process is conducted confidentially.
The editorial board may verify the sources cited in a manuscript. If incomplete or insufficient information is identified in the references, the editors will inform the author of the need to clarify the relevant sources. If a manuscript contains references to non-existent sources, the editorial board may, depending on their number, either request that the author provide correct references or reject the manuscript.
