The Special Olympics Young Athletes curriculum is the first stage of Unified Sports participation. It is an inclusive sport and play program for students with and without intellectual disabilities. Students develop fundamental gross motor skills, improve their social and emotional skills, and learn healthy habits that they will be able to carry with them through life.
Train in-person or virtually with your students for several weeks, and then celebrate by hosting your own Unified Game Day event!
We recommend Pre-K - 3rd grade to review the Young Athletes activities with your students, but feel free to extend this beyond 2nd grade as you see fit.
