A Unified Physical Education class is a unique opportunity for students of various ability levels to come together on equal terms through ongoing fitness, sports, leadership, and wellness activities.
When starting Unified Physical Education at the Elementary Level, there can be unique obstacles when trying to schedule these activities during the school day. Trying to find a time when general education students could come into an Adapted PE class could be a good starting point.
Example: An Adapted PE class can be scheduled during a recess period, where general education students could opt to give up their recess time to be a unified partner for a series of weeks.
