EFFICACY OF ECO-ADHESIVE FROM DIFFERENT PLANT SAP
EFFICACY OF ECO-ADHESIVE FROM DIFFERENT PLANT SAP
ABSTRACT
Adhesives are known as a substance that capable of bonding surfaces permanently or temporarily. It is also one of the basic needs that mostly seen at home, school, and office for a purpose of repairing and crafting. Typically, glues or adhesives are depending on its purpose or for the materials to be used and it also matter with its price. This study is aiming to create a natural and very resourceful kind of eco-adhesive using different plant sap such as Chrysophyllum cainito sap, Carica papaya sap, and Araucaria heterophylla resin to help the environment and to produce an eco-adhesive that is cheaper and capable to any kind of materials.
This study is quantitative experimental study because it performs a scientific approach that includes treatments, hypothesis, measurements, control, and manipulation of variables. In order to achieve this product, there are procedures to be followed. Preparing, gathering, measuring, mixing, boiling, applying, and testing are the methods for the product making that consists of the materials and ingredients used. There are also research instruments that are used as a basis for the data gathering for the findings and results. The research instrument of this study is consist of the two methods of testing that determine and measure the efficacy of this eco-adhesive product which are the glue-up test and heat and humidity test. There are three treatments with three replicates that have different results in terms of efficacy. In conducting this research, different materials are used to apply the product, the materials paper to paper, paper to plastic, paper to wood, paper to fabric, paper to polystyrene foam. The result of this study will determine the strength, capability, and setting speed, quality change, and ability as a successful eco-adhesive for the environment.
