here is the story behind Mimikyu

Meet Mimikyu: a ghost/fairy-type Pokémon who just wants to be loved as much as Pikachu. After seeing how much trainers and other Pokémon loved Pikachu, a lonely, shy Mimikyu (whose English name has not yet been released) donned a handmade veil to disguise itself as the huggable electric rodent

Looking at Mimikyu when it's disrobed is a mistake that no human Pokémon trainer would ever make. Its Pokédex entry from Pokémon Sun reads, “Its actual appearance is unknown. A scholar who saw what was under its rag was overwhelmed by terror and died from the shock.”
