HOW TO GIVE

BY CHEQUE

PRAYER FOCUS

OUTREACH

Out in the highways and byways of life,
Many are weary and sad;
Carry the sunshine where darkness is rife,
Making the sorrowing glad.

Refrain:
Make me a blessing, Make me a blessing.
Out of my life may Jesus shine;
Make me a blessing, O Saviour, I pray.
Make me a blessing to someone today.

Give as 'twas given to you in your need,
Love as the Master loved you;
Be to the helpless a helper indeed,
Unto your mission be true. [Refrain]

Dearest friends and co-labourers of God, please pray along with me:

O God our Heavenly Father, we thank you for creating us in Christ Jesus to do the good works that you have prepared beforehand for us to do. What a privilege it is for us to be able to partner you in the work of bringing your love and blessings to the Community around us. And while we do the work you have given us to do, we pray that you will also equip us to make disciples of those whom we engage with – immersing them in the knowledge of you, your Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit; and teaching them to obey everything that Jesus has commanded us.

We pray for all the children in the Community, in Hope Student Care Centre, and in the Anglican Family Centre. We pray for those who will be taking their exams soon. Keep their minds alert and their memory sharp. Calm their nerves and help them to concentrate. Let them know that you are always present with them every step of the way. Help them to perform to the best of their abilities. Thank you for watching over those who are in Primary 6, who have just completed their PSLE. We ask that you allow them to rest and rejuvenate as they look forward to the next stage in their school life, and to a future where they can do new things with you.

We thank you for the opportunity to begin ministering again to the elderly residents of the ECON Medicare Centre in Recreation Road. We could not see them because of the COVID restrictions, but you have now opened a way for us to bring your love to the elderly and the staff again. We thank you for the cell groups who have responded to the call to minister to the elderly. We ask that you fill them with your love so that it will overflow to the people they minister to. Fill them with your peace and joy, so that they can bring peace and joy to the elderly residents in ECON.

Heavenly Father, we thank you for blessing us so abundantly out of your glorious riches. But help us not to hoard these blessings for ourselves. Make us realise that there are those in our community who are weary and sad, who are heavy-laden and sorrowing. And just as you have given to us in our time of need, just as Jesus has loved us unconditionally, help us to give to the people in our community in their time of need, and to love them the same way Jesus loved us. Make us a blessing, Lord, and make Jesus shine out of our lives and the good works we do. Make us a blessing to someone today.

In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen!
