We are observing Pledge Sunday on 7 Aug 2022. As we look to the new financial year as a church, we ask you to prayerfully consider your pledges for the new year. Each of our circumstances are unique, and we only ask that you respond in faith as the Lord leads. Missions Prayer List

South East Asia

1. BL

1.1 Pray that the TESOL programme will be made available to other believers to do training to expand its reach. Pray that God will select His chosen to do this.

1.2 Pray for BL wisdom to manage serving their 2 widowed mothers who are living alone.


2. Boonchiaw

2.1 Pray for God’s strength and anointing on Boonchiaw to effectively proclaim God’s Word online (via Facebook) to members in Thailand every Sunday afternoon.

2.2 Pray for Boonchiaw as he plans to visit and minister in Thailand end August.

Parachurch Workers

1. Fellowship of Evangelical Students, Singapore: Siah May Lan

1.1 Pray for God's continued healing on May Lan’s mother’s knee surgery to remove the metal implant and her stomach cancer. Pray that the break from chemo treatment will not affect her cancer condition.

1.2 Pray for May Lan to experience God's guidance and wisdom in choosing an appropriate course and approval for her sabbatical plans in 2023.

1.3 Pray for God's wisdom to build and sustain the small group of art students and raising new leaders in NAFA/Lasalle CF group; for concrete strategies and monetary resources in ministry outreach and forming a Christian fellowship in ITE campus.

2. YWAM Singapore: Benedict Tan

2.1 Pray for Benedict to be given strength daily, as he serves at Tamar Village’s food business in Geylang. Pray for wisdom as he navigates between work and school.

2.2 Pray for Benedict and his girlfriend in their marriage preparation and looking into housing arrangements.

3. Navigators Singapore: Roger Yeo

3.1 Pray that God will increase Roger and Pearlyn’s capacity as they juggle between children’s demands and more responsibilities in ministry demands.

3.2 Pray for J, B, QG, WD, E, A, S that the Holy Spirit would speak to their hearts about the love of Jesus Christ and what He has done for them. Pray they would take the step of faith even as various ones investigate the bible together with them. B has recently indicated progress in his search. We are thankful!

4. Wycliffe Singapore: Grace Tan

4.1 Pray for Grace who is writing her MA Thesis that is due in September, that she will do a good job on it and hand it in on time. Pray for Grace’s health.

4.2 Pray for Grace’s sister to grow stronger after being on sick leave for a long time. Pray for Grace’s brother, Russel who is trying out a new medication for his tremor. Pray for him to be in good health and wellbeing.

5. YWAM Singapore: David and Tessa

5.1 Pray for David and Tessa to make deep connections with the aunties and uncles in the “cousin” ministries; and also to pray that these people whom they are reaching out to will be open to the love of Jesus and for opportunities to witness to them.

6. YWAM Singapore: Beatrice Wee

6.1. Pray for Beatrice that she will be refreshed and rejuvenated during this season of her sabbatical and also in her discernment on the Lord’s leading in her ministry.

6.2 Pray for breakthrough and also for Beatrice to experience God’s grace, mercy and strength to carry her through the challenges that she is currently facing.

Missions Partners

1. East Asia : TK

1.1 Pray for TK and the campus teams that they will be effective in engaging and befriending seekers at the three colleges and also for wisdom to share the gospel and disciple them. Pray for students to be open and responsive to the gospel.

1.2 Pray for God’s provision to meet the financial needs of TK’s family.

2. South Asia : GEMS

2.1 Pray for the GEMS staff and pastors to continue to stand firm in faith and to serve the Lord faithfully in the midst of persecution and the current pandemic situation.

2.2 Pray for India as the country is badly affected by the pandemic - many people are without jobs and the poor are suffering without basic necessities.

2.3 Pray for the Bible School students that they will continue to learn and be agents of transformation wherever the Lord leads them.

3. East Asia: Songs

3.1. Pray for a Joseph’s health. He has had a persistent cough for almost a month.

3.2. Pray for the TAN-NW guys who are doing online seminary classes. Pray for them to press on and finish well. Also pray for security.

DAY OF HIS POWER

Even as our nation celebrates National Day in the month of Aug, we want to be keeping our nation in prayer. We will do this as the larger Body of Christ in Singapore by joining other churches in LoveSingapore’s prayer event called Day of His Power. Let’s ask together for God to bless Singapore on her 57th birthday, that our nation will fulfil her purposes in God.

This prayer event will replace our usual monthly Corporate Prayer Meeting for August only.

Communications Executive (Social Media)

Job Overview

As part of the church Communications team, the Communications Executive is responsible for the effective communication of the church vision and mission, and the publicity and promotion of its events and activities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage social media for PLMC

  • Manage PLMC website

  • Assist in publicity and promotion of church events and in archiving of church records

  • Any other duties as assigned by the Pastor-in-Charge


Requirements

    • Diploma or degree in digital media, mass communication, multimedia or related disciplines

    • Minimum two years experience in corporate communications or marketing with hands-on social media management portfolio

    • Enjoy working on creative projects

    • Meticulous in attention to detail and a good track record in multi-tasking

    • Good command of spoken and written English essential. Strong command of Mandarin will be an advantage

    • Strong computer skills: in particular, a sound knowledge of Desktop Publishing tools and design software like Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, WordPress etc

    • Basic photography skills and knowledge of photographic equipment is an advantage

    • Must be able to work on Sundays

PLMC MATTERS

STREAMLINING OF RESTRICTIONS FOR ONSITE SERVICES

  • The Mandarin, Youth, Filipino and Peranakan Services do not require Safe Entry Check-Ins. However, VDS applies to the English Services as the capacity of the Sanctuary exceeds 500, and so Safe Entry Check-Ins are required, so please bring along your TraceTogether app or token.

  • Mask wearing still continue. All worshippers must be fully vaccinated or show proof of exemption.

  • Worshippers to the 9am English Service are strongly urged to leave the church premises and car park as soon as they are dismissed to make way for worshippers attending the 11.15am English and Mandarin Services.

CHURCH OFFICE OPENING HOURS

The church office will be open on the following days and times except for public holidays:

  • Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri – 10.00am to 4.00pm

  • Sat – 9.00am to 1.00pm

  • Wed, Sun & Public Holidays - closed
