BIBLICAL GRADUATE SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY (BGST) COURSE: CHRISTIAN LEARNING IN DIGITAL AGE

CE/ID205 Christian Learning in Digital Age

  • The module aims to equip participants with an understanding of the digital age and its impact on the Church and learning. Participants will learn the available educational technologies that the Church could leverage on for her ministry. It seeks to initiate a conversation among participants and to create a space for co-creating a theological framework regarding the Church and the digital/information age. We all live, work, and play in a digital age; these core aspects of our lives and society have changed dramatically over the course of the past half-century. Digital transformation has revolutionized the way we do things; the pandemic is only a catalyst for the church’s adaptation and transformation under the accelerating digital revolution in society.

  • The church needs to rethink how to be effective in her ministry to and witness in a world that is different from just a decade ago and will continue to evolve and change. This module invites you to a conversation on thinking about digital transformation and the church’s mission to disciple the nations. The Church has always adapted herself to new realities and transforming herself to be an effective witness at different historical periods; it is our turn to rethink how the Church could continue to actualize the Great Commission in the new digital age. Specifically, this module aims to understand theologically, theoretically, and practically, the task of informing, transforming, and forming Christians through the Word in the information age.

  • Lecturer: Low Kwang Meng (MTh; MEd)

Mr Low Kwang Meng is the Director for Discipleship & Nurture at Paya Lebar Methodist Church. A graduate from TTC (MTh) and Monash University (MEd), Kwang Meng is currently serving as the Director of Discipleship and Nurture in Paya Lebar Methodist Church.
