Message from the Dean

Dean Ver E. Reyes, Ph.D., RPsy, RPm, LPT

On 11 November 2020, Dr. Ver Reyes was appointed as the Dean of the Graduate School concurrently serving as the Chairperson of the Psychology Program. A licensed psychologist and psychometrician, Dr. Reyes was also the chairperson of the Teaching Psychology Special Interest Group (2016 -2022) and former Internal Relations Officer (2022-2023) before becoming the first transwoman president of the Psychological Association of the Philippines (recognized by the Professional Regulation Commission as the Accredited Integrated Professional Organization for Psychologists and Psychometricians in the country) – the first to hold such distinction of leading a psychological society in the world. Various universities, the media, and other organizations have invited her to conduct seminar workshops and interviews to share her insights on teaching, online learning, research, and other topics such as SOGIESC-LGBT, mental health, and well-being. Ver's teaching stint began at PLMar in 2006 and has worked with other higher educational institutions such as Our Lady of Fatima University-Antipolo and Assumption College-Makati. She received her Doctorate in Social Development from the Philippine Women's University-Manila (2013) and earned her Master's (2009) and Baccalaureate (2005) Degrees in Psychology from the Ateneo de Manila University.  

FORMER DEANS

(+)Antonio S. Valdez, Ph.D., FRIEdr  

Dr. Valdez was a professor and the Dean of the Graduate Studies from 2014 until his retirement in 2020. He graduated with the degree of Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Santo Tomas. He went on to pursue his Master in Business Administration at San Beda College-Manila and his Doctor of Philosophy in Development Administration at the Philippine Christian University. He also finished his Royal Institute of Educator's degree in Singapore. He worked in different private companies, as well as with several establishments in the tariffs and trade and in the customs brokerage sector. He has taught International Trade & Business, Ethics in Business, Human Resource Management, Macroeconomics, Economic Analysis. He also taught international business classes at the Philippine School of Business Administration-Manila as an adjunct professor while writing books and attending several training activities for professional advancement.

ALDRIN DARILAG, Ph.D., RMT, RN, CHRP

Dr. Aldrin Arenas Darilag was the PLMar Vice President for Research, Planning, and Extension Services and the concurrent Dean of the Graduate Studies from 2012 to 2013. Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP), a Registered Medical Technologist (RMT) and a Registered Nurse (RN), he has served the higher education through other capacities as Director for Human Resource Management Services of De La Salle Philippines and as Head of the HR Commission of the Lasallian School Network. Dr. Darilag finished his Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership and Management, has earned doctoral units in Science Education, major in Biology, and finished his Master of Education (major in School Leadership) at De La Salle University-Manila. He also earned his Master’s Degree in Medical Technology at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) equipped with an undergraduate degree in Nursing and Medical Technology.

(+)Alfredo M. Dimaano, DBA

Dr. Alfredo Dimaano was PLMar Vice President of Academic Services and concurrent Dean of the Graduate Studies from 2011-2013. A licensed teacher, board examination review lecturer, and a prolific researcher, Dr. Dimaano earned his Bachelor in Secondary Education (major in General Science and Mathematics) and Doctor of Business Management degrees from St. Paul University Philippines-Tuguegarao. He graduated with a Master of Science in Educational Measurement and Evaluation (major in Research and Statistics) degree from De La Salle University-Manila. 

Dalisay Brawner, Ed.D.

Dr. Dalisay G. Brawner was former President of PLMar and served as interim Dean in what would be the Graduate Studies. She earned her Doctor of Education degree (major in Educational Administration) from the Philippine Normal University; her Master’s in Education degree from the De La Salle University; and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from St. Mary’s University-Nueva Vizcaya. Dr. Brawner was a postgraduate research fellow in research and teaching at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, USA. A multi-awarded professor, she also worked with other higher education institutions such as St. Mary’s University, De La Salle University, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, St. Joseph’s College-Quezon City, Far Eastern University, and the Philippine Normal University. She has also been actively involved and have held leadership roles in various professional organizations and socio-civic activities.
