Before the first human colonisers arrived to terraform the planet, life on this world was at the equivalent of the Ediacaran. Multicellular life was just becoming large enough to become macroscopic with visible patterns of organisation.
When the planet was terraformed to suit organisms from Earth, this killed off nearly all native microscopic life, and totalled all of the macroscopic life. There are some ruins left over from this time as well as some quarries and mines with substantial excavation, but erosion and overgrowth are quickly concealing the signs.
The survivors of the disaster that killed off the ancient human colonisers are few, resulting in a world of low biodiversity.
In the oceans one cephalopod survived - the humboldt squid. Very few fish and decapods make up some of their prey, but they are often forced to cannibalise each other.
On land there is a critical lack of insects due to so few being introduced to begin with. Honeybees had a successful rebound after the purge, making them the most numerous and widespread insect. They are still however absent from the polar regions and heat-resistant varieties sparsely inhabit the equatorial belt. Painted lady butterflies are taking longer to restore their numbers but their current ranges are gradually spreading owing to their non-specific nature, with larvae surviving on a range of plants most preferring the catnip. Mealworm beetles, wax moths and a few other cultivated insects gone feral have survived, but with only small patches of thriving populations. Wax moths are able to spread with the bees due to their parasitic nature.
It is duringt his time that Guy introduced more species to this world, including three vertebrate species: Domestic cats, house sparrows and intragalactic mice.
Note: These maps are outdated and thus appear different from the current in use maps. For now they still give a fairly accurate representation of the weather and climate of the planet but they will be replaced in future.

Surface Currents:
Surface currents are a combination of surface wind-driven and thermohaline driven.
Thermohaline Currents and Oxygen Minimum Zones
Thermohaline currents are unaffected by the wind. OMZs may be minimally affected by surface winds due to agetation of organic matter and the resulting blooms of microbes depleting oxygen.
