In Loving Memory

Kiki

2013 - 2022

Kiki was my inspiration for starting this project.

She was the best cat. Affectionate, smart, brave and funny. Very athletic, and she loved to show it off by climbing trees and high fences, as if just to demonstrate to you! She loved to hang out with me in the garden while I worked. Had mad zoomies on the grass, and liked to play chase with long grass stalks, strings with socks or feathers tied to the end. Sometimes she would find a big old gull feather and carry it into the house. When the crows tried to tease her, she would just roll around lovingly and try to play with them. Her favourite toy was a rolled up piece of aluminium foil that she would bat around the floor with her paws and then chase. She also loved empty cardboard boxes. Her favourite place to relax was the living room table where she could chatter at the birds outside, or on cold days, the high-up towel cupboard where the hot water pipe ran through. She also had a lot of other favourite places, such as the computer chair, her bed, or right on your lap. Her favourite treat was prawns. She preferred my left shoulder while being cuddled, even if I picked her up and held her by my right, she would pivot around and lay her paws and chin on the left. She took walks with her humans and would always stay close by to us when taken out. She loved to run fast just for the sake of it.

First day I met her she looked into my eyes and gently placed her paw on my face. I was quite a withdrawn person at the time and she completely melted my heart. I owed her so much for teaching me how to feel again, and I can only hope that I gave her a good life. She was loved by all who encountered her.
