Welcome to the beginning of your journey where you will bring one of your own characters to the world of Pokémon Fantasy University!
Unlike previously, we've simplified things quite a bit! Every character type no matter what will use the same app template, so please go ahead and download both this image file as well as make a copy of the Blank Application form! Using Toyhouse is also a viable alternative.
HOW TO COPY THE DOC AND MAKE YOUR OWN PERSONAL APP
When opening up the google doc page, make sure to select File and hit "Make a Copy". This will give you your own version of the written application in which you'll be able to edit and have your own personal copy! You will only need one written app to hold a linked pair. Both Visual apps that you downloaded above should be inserted into this image when finished as well.
When opening the Blank Written app, please read the instructions on the app on how to go about writing your character! You'll want to replace the text with your own, but use the text we have there currently as your guide! Do know, any information with an asterisk (*) next to it on the written app is OPTIONAL!
Linked Pairs: The one that most people are familiar with! The Fantasy character goes to King Arthur's Castle in the Galar Kingdom and acquires a Mana Tablet. Using this tablet, they are able to swap bodies and universes with their counterpart over at University! The University Student while swapped is immune to the Darkness effects, so they're the best counter when it comes fighting against it. Their downside is that they'll have to be taught how to fight with their new body! In the meantime, the Fantasy character will live out the life of the University Student.
Explorers: The Kalos alternative to the Linked Pair, they've created a device that allows one to generate a cyborg hologram body by putting on a VR headset. This works for both ways, allowing for your character to visit the other universe as themselves! The Fantasy characters need to go to the University side to advertise their special VR product and convince the University Students to save the world as if it were a video game. The downsides to being an explorer are that your cyborg hologram body is prone to glitches and hiccups, as well as University students having limited time using the VR headset before they have to tend to their real lives again. They, just like the Linked Pair students, are immune to the Darkness Virus.
The Lost: The last main type are those who have been infected by the Darkness and have accepted the Dark Magic into their bodies. These characters want to infect the rest of the world for various reasons, whether they're evil and wish to take control of everything for themselves, or if they're good people who want to see their friends and family again without their powers being drained. It is like a heavy addiction to them, so talking them out of dropping the Dark Magic will not be easy at all, but it is possible!
Solo Characters: It is possible to also have characters that do not partake in both universes! These characters simply stay within their own world and mind their own business, but can still earn points!
NPCs: These characters are just the same as the solo characters, but do not earn points, cannot rp by themselves, and cannot partcipate in live chats. These characters are for when you want more side characters in your stories, but do not wish to take up the 10 main character slots that you have!
When getting to the Powers section of the Fantasy App, you'll notice images of Galarian Ponyta on your left, you'll want to replace them with these skill icons provided to you! These all come from the game Pokémon Unite, and there are currently over 250 icons to choose from! Choose whatever best represents the powers and abilities of your character.

If you want to make your own custom icon instead, you can use this blank template by clicking here!
Some notes to remember before getting started:
Be sure to fully read the Rules and Story of the group before making an application, so you don't create a character that doesn't fit in or whose background outright contradicts the group's story! Characters MUST fit the group's setting and story to be accepted into the group.
For Linked Pairs, despite both characters sharing the same soul across parallel universes, the Fantasy character's design does NOT have to match the University character's appearance. Name, Age, Gender, Pokémon species, etc., can all be different or the same. It's up to you how similar or dissimilar you make the halves of a Linked Pair!
Despite this group having a University setting with all characters being 18+ years old, this group is rated PG-13! This means stories should keep topics such as Sex, Violence, and Drugs to a minimum. These topics can be briefly mentioned but no explicit depictions, please. The Fantasy side is allowed to have more violence, but it should not be described in overly graphic detail. RPs and Written Works should have content more along the lines of what one would expect from a Fantasy backstory.
You can dress your character up in any attire as long as it's PG-13 appropriate and fits the settings for the respective world the character is from, University world or Fantasy world!
Fantasy characters should remain... Fantasy themed! Real surprising, we know, but in all seriousness, we do ask that you keep realistic modern or futuristic clothing and technology out of your Fantasy character designs. There can be magic technology, but not regular technologies such as cellphones, automatic guns, etc.
University characters should wear typical modern-day clothes, something that makes sense for them to wear on campus, on a regular day-to-day basis.
Fantasy Characters do NOT need to have superpowers! They can instead use regular weapons and just be skilled at it! Remember, though- when near the Darkness, they will forget how to use these skills effectively.
Characters on the Campus side must be Anthro Pokémon with no powers. They can be between the ages of 18 - 95 and can be anyone who is on Campus for any reason! They could be a student, professor, construction worker, janitor, EMS worker, cook, etc! The head of the University is the only position that cannot be taken.
Characters on the Fantasy Side are allowed to be Anthros OR other races! This includes Gijinkas as well as other D&D / Fantasy races. Fantasy characters, Solo or otherwise, cannot be immortal beings such as gods, and all Fantasy world races have normal human lifespans- their age should be between 18-95.
D&D races include but are not limited to Centaurs, Sphinxes, Orcs, Faeries, Elves, Dwarves, Werewolves, Vampires, Shape-changers (Changelings or Shifters), Elemental folk (Genasi), Birdfolk (Aarakocra, Owlin, or Kenku), Draconic folk (Dragonborn, Half-Dragons, or Kobolds), Demon-kin (Tieflings), Goblin-kin (Goblins, Hobgoblins), Robotic folk (Warforged), Catfolk (Tabaxi or Leonin), Rabbit-folk (Harengon), Serpent-folk (Nagas), Slimes (Plasmoids), and Mer-folk (Triton or Mermaids)
When deciding which Pokémon you want your character to be, do know that any and all Pokémon are allowed- including Mythicals, Legendries, Ultra Beasts, and Beta Pokémon! Do remember, Legendaries are at the same power level as any other regular Pokémon in this group, they are not all-powerful like in the games.
Regular Pokémon coloration is, of course, allowed for characters, as well as hue changes to make their natural tones warmer or cooler.
Of course, submitting an application doesn't automatically mean you're in! Even when the group opens, you must wait to get feedback from the mods before you are able to officially be a part of the group.
There are many reasons as to why you may get rejected, though the primary reasons are as follows...
Your App needs some work!
If there is something wrong with your application, such as missing information or it's not written well enough, we will let you know and what it is you need to fix! Sometimes it may be a simple fix that can take but a few seconds, other times it will be the mods asking if you can rewrite your character's personality history, as it could be lacking, poorly written, or doesn't fit the group's story. These can take a bit longer and we ask that you take your time working on these apps. If the mod team has given up on your efforts at improving an app or your app is beyond fixing, you will be declined from joining the group.
You aren't fitting in...
Unfortunately, not everyone is going to mesh well with the group. This could be for reasons including your English writing skills being too poor, to the point of communication being difficult, or if you make people uncomfortable with your presence and do not change your behavior when asked. If we decide we don't want you in the group, we can reject you for this reason, regardless of how good your application is.
Members are allowed to create up to 10 characters at the start! This can be any combination of characters, however do note that creating a linked pair will take up 2 slots. More slots may be earned through earning points in the group. You may also have as many NPC characters as you wish. They may be given their own apps and all, but cannot gain points, rp by themselves, or talk in the live chatrooms.
Nope! If you would much rather focus on one singular world, you may join and remain in the group only having Solo characters if that is what you prefer! We understand that not everyone wants to utilize both worlds and deal with the swapping mechanic and that's absolutely fine.
Yes! Feel free to make your own skill icons if you think they'd better represent your character's Skills. We would appreciate it if they kept a circular appearance, though!
You may! Though, the moves should still make sense for your character and their class! The moves don't have to be on your Pokémon's official move list, but there needs to be some logic behind it. A Delphox Mage may be able to cast a water spell, but a Chesnaught Warrior that doesn't have any magical aptitude shouldn't be using Water Gun anytime soon.
Simply head on over to the Database page and put your character in there! Apps will no longer be looked over and will instead be self monitored by the members. If people find that there is something wrong about your app that is causing problems, they may report it to the mod team and we will reach out to you and discuss a way of how it can be fixed.
Nope! Those who cannot draw are very much welcome to join the group, but we ask that you get art of your character first before adding them to your database!
As for getting art, you must find someone to draw it for you, whether it's through free request or commission.
Yes! It would be very important for you to look over everything found in the LORE section and make sure your character fits within the story and setting of the group! There should also be a character guidelines page that will assist you in what your character can and cannot do.
Yes! Feel free to change it up at your own leisure.
Fantasy Characters do NOT need to have superpowers! They can instead use regular weapons and just be skilled at it! Do remember, when near the Darkness, they will forget how to use these skills effectively.
Every single character, regardless if they are a Solo Campus Member or a Solo Fantasy character, has a counterpart somewhere in the other world! Both still share the same soul and will still die at the same time. However, they do not become a Linked Pair until they have received the Mana app and swap places for the first time.
It may be possible for Linked Pairs to put together the pieces of who is connected to who, but some counterparts are drastically different in species and appearance, while some others may be a bit more obvious with having only very few differences or even none at all!
Note that it is not a requirement to know or even care who a solo's counterpart is, but they are out there... somewhere...
So to answer the question... yes! Solo characters can eventually link up, and you can even have both a solo campus and solo fantasy character that are connected, but haven't officially linked to each other yet! Villain characters, of course, would not be able to recieve the tablet until they are purified and made into better people.
