Greetings! My name is King Arthur, and I'm here to introduce you all to a magical set of Pokémon filled worlds where you can live out your greatest fantasies! Whether you want to live the life of a University student living the modern slice of life, or you want to become a great and epic hero who can help change the world, you've stumbled into the right place!
Regardless if you're a seasoned veteran or a brand newcomer, please settle down and listen to my little tale of how these two worlds became connected with one another. More importantly, what it means for you and how you will go about beginning your new adventure!
So you're probably wondering, just why are there two worlds? Well, let's start from the very beginning! I'm King Arthur, and as my title suggests, I am the King! Which Kingdom, you may ask? Why the Galar Kingdom, of course! I'm quite new at the position, as I just recently inherited my father's position... so please give me some time to adjust to it, I promise I'll be a good leader!
There are many Kingdoms located around the planet, but there is nothing quite like the three super-powered nations. Of course you have the Galar Kingdom, but then you also have the Kalos Kingdom and the Paldea Kingdom. The real kicker is that all three of these Kingdoms are located right next to one another! There are a lot of valuable goods to be found in this area, so the three Kingdoms were all able to become very powerful from it. Of course, these three Kingdoms are sometimes at odds with one another, they want to be the best, of course!
Sometimes our Kingdoms fight at war with one another, but most of the time... it's about advancing technology and magic to the next level so that we can get an edge on our competition. Sadly, this is where the downfall of the Paldea Kingdom began. In an attempt to mess around with Dark Magic, Paldea's mages accidently created a very strong and forbidden magic known as The Darkness. It is a special type of Dark Magic that can nullify any opposing person's abilities, but it comes at the cost of one's sanity. By that, I mean they lose their sense of self and their morals. It's an addicting power to those who are presented with the opportunity to use it! The way it works is that the energy will either absorb all of your life force, or it will entice you to accept it into your body. Once you accept it, it becomes an addiction that you can't break out of. Obviously, neither choice sounds all that appetizing to any typical hero. So... what do we do about it?
Unfortunately for the Paldea Kingdom, it appears that everyone there has fallen to the Darkness. Either they have been killed off or they have accepted the Darkness themselves in order to spread it more across the world. However, both the Galar Kingdom and The Kalos Kingdom have each found their own ways to deal with it!
The Galar Kingdom
As you already know, I am the King of the Galar Kingdom, King Arthur! What we were able to gather from how the Darkness operates, it is not only able to nullify other magic users from being able to perform their magic, but it strips away a Warrior's ability to fight, an assassin's stealth, a sniper's shooting ability... you get the point! We've never seen anything like it before, and we wondered if it had anything to do with an individual's soul. Using our Dynamax energy, we were able to find a Manaphy and supercharge it! It is the master of swapping souls, after all. With a bit of experimentation, we reached a jackpot! It's reach was so far that it had the ability to swap bodies with a person from across an entirely different world! Testing it on one of our soldiers, the person that they had swapped with was frightened out of their mind, but after having them encounter someone with the Darkness, we noticed that their abilities had not been nullified! Something about this other world's souls were preventing the Darkness from doing it's job. Knowing this, we decided to go all in and store this Dynamax Manaphy's power into a device called The Mana Tablet. It essentially can let you swap back and forth with another person as many times as you wish! For whatever reason, Manaphy seems to only be able to swap you with one individual. That individual always seems to have some sort of similarities to whoever the swapped with as well! We think it may be that this is some sort of parallel universe where the world as evolved in a very different way, and that the person that gets swapped in is an alternate version of themselves! With this amazing technology developed, we can begin to train our new warriors and have them help take our world back! While killing everyone who has the Darkness is certainly an option, I want to look into seeing if purifying the Darkness without harming the user is an option instead! It's still a work in progress, so for now we will just focus on protecting others from being infected.
Another unfortunate thing that we learned is that while everyone has a counterpart, it turns out that if a counterpart dies... then the other half dies as well. On the bright side, learning that information at the very least made this other universe want to help us out more!
Pros:
A team of two! Two minds are better than one~
Can swap places to cover each other's weaknesses.
Mentor available to allow for easier learning.
Has the possibility of being able to purify the darkness in the future.
Cons:
Chance your counterpart might not be very cooperative.
Have to share lives with another version of yourself.
Cooldown on swapping.
The Kalos Kingdom
The Kalos Kingdom has always been ahead of the curb when it comes to technology, and this dilemma is no exception! Their leader's name is King Francis. He's always very nosy when it comes to how his neighboring Kingdoms are advancing their technology, so he often sends many spies out to gather intel. Once he learned about the Mana Tablet technology, he got his hands on it and sent one of his own soldiers to learn about this other world. Just like his Kingdom's technology, this other universe has gone to the limits with it's technology! It's like some sort of futuristic version of our own. Gathering information about the Mana Tablet as well as the technology from their world, he was able to create cyborgs with hologram capabilities! Learning about the Modern World's 'VR Technology', the Kalos Kingdom was able to create a device in the modern world that could be worn and transfer an individual over into these new bodies to fight! It was advertised as a highly advanced state of the art technology that could send you to a Fantasy World to fight and save the world! It certainly worked, because a lot of those alternate universe people bought and began to use it! They even have a reverse version of the headset that allows people from our world to make fake modern bodies to try and blend in so that they can advertise the product further.
Unlike the Mana Tablet, these Cyborg bodies are more prone to having errors and hacking issues, (I've heard issues of them not correctly displaying the correct visual, or even creating a personality overdrive!) they also don't have anyone to teach these modern people how to fight, so they have to learn on their own. The main thing that they have in common, though, is that they both require the help of the soul from this parallel universe and that they both want to take down the Darkness. Although King Francis might be trying to make this a competition, I am more concerned with the safety of our world.
Pros:
Only have to rely on yourself instead of another.
Cool Cyborg body to live out your wildest dreams!
Holograms to make your Cyborg body have the looks and powers that you want.
Cons:
VR Headset isn't perfect. Is prone to randomly shutting off and having connection errors at the worst times.
Cyborg body is prone to glitches and hacking. Can lead to undesirable Holograms or personality overdrives affecting your mind.
Can only be in the Fantasy World when on the VR headset, leading to needing to stop for school and sleep. Nobody can take your place while you are out adventuring.
Congratulations! Your character has been accepted by King Arthur to receive the Mana Tablet! This is your main tool to swap with your counterpart from the Real World. You'll notice that upon booting it up, you've got a couple of things to check out! Let's go over one by one what each feature provides.
Now that you know of the story of the Darkness and our Kingdoms, it's time to get out there and help save our world! Be wary, however... with the chaos that is the Darkness, other evil individuals have risen to take advantage of it all! It appears that there may be even more ways to deal with the Darkness that we haven't even yet discovered, so keep yourself alert for whatever adventure you might find yourself running into! Although the Darkness is quite terrible to fight against, there will be times where you will want to swap back with your Fantasy counterpart, as they may be more equipped to handling the situation that you might be! It's a team effort, so do your best to help save our... AND your world!
Regions such as Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, and Alola exist and are in similar spots to where the locations they were based off are. This means that Unova is where the United States would be, Kanto is where Japan would be, etc. You can have your character come from these places, but make note that both your College and Fantasy character would likely have originated from this location, and both would have to have travelled to Galar.
Your character is also allowed to have come from the Paldea region, it's very likely that those living there would want to escape.
Non Mainline game locations such as Orre or the Orange Islands are not apart of FU's world.
For the sake of simplicity, the main language spoken in Galar, Kalos, and Paldea will be in English. Other regions will also be able to speak English, but it is alright to have your character speak a different language if you really want them to, such as those from Kanto/Johto to speak Japanese.
Culture is not based on real life counterparts, so being from Kalos does not mean you are French, or being from Unova doesn't make you American. Feel free to base different parts of a region for different cultures!
The real world uses only Anthro characters with feral Pokémon as pets. Both the people and the animals in this world have no powers or abilities to speak of and are on par with regular humans and animals. There are certain traits that certain Pokémon types and species can had, which can be read over in the Character Guidelines Page.
As for the Fantasy World... Anthro, Gijinka, and DnD races exist where you can change a species' design to fit along with whatever race you decide to make them! The feral Pokémon in this world have their natural Pokémon abilities here. As for the characters, they too have Pokémon Powers, but primarily use their abilities they've learned from training.
It is a form of very addicting Dark Magic that makes any opposing foe fall to their knees before you. Magic Wielders lose their magic, warriors lose their strength, assassins lose their stealth, marksmen lose their skill, any power they once had is gone when you are nearby. They may either choose to accept the Dark Magic into their own body, or they will perish at your hands. The person infected with the virus will want to convert others to a world where everyone has it.
No. They were simply researching Dark Magic for their own Kingdom and made a grave error, and now the Paldea Kingdom is Ground Zero for this virus.
A character can be talked out of it, but it is like a heavy addiction. King Arthur is looking for a way to make a forced purification process to remove the Dark Magic from the infected user without having to convince them.
Yes, they can be brought right back into it if not careful!
Yes! New to the reboot, characters may be infected by the Darkness. Be wary, though, removing the Darkness from them will be no easy task! Additionally, it will be difficult to talk to other Fantasy characters without their energy getting drained... unless that is your goal.
Feral Pokemon and Pets can be infected as well! This can certainly lead to some very dangerous situations.
As of right now, most of the Darkness is in the Paldea Kingdom, and it is slowly making it's way into Kalos. Very few, if none, have made their way into the Galar Kingdom. Every other region such as Unova, Kanto, Sinnoh, etc, are too far away for the Darkness to have spread there yet. This is a new virus and has not had it's time to fully spread yet.
