It should come as no shocker to anyone who attends Fantasy University that there are certain individuals that possess "Mana Tablets" that allow themselves to swap places with another version of themselves from some kind of Fantasy World. While some are still fooled by thinking it has to do with the VR technology, plenty of people know better by this point.
One such person is Macro, a scientist who conducts many experiments for the sake of science and progressing technology as much as possible! For someone like her, Magic is not real, it never was. It is simply unexplained science to her. Witnessing the VR technology suddenly pop up without any prior tracing most certainly caused it to get on her radar. After exploring the VR world, she was convinced that this was no VR technology but rather a true alternate dimension! The Question was... how could she get there herself?
As someone who did not have the luxury of being chosen for the Mana Tablet program, Macro got hard at work at creating a device that could allow herself and others to travel to this other world without the need of VR technology or swapping bodies. After many failed experiments, she finally found something that was worth looking into further...
The Dream World.
"Behold! By getting into any of these dream beds, your mind can be transported to a dimension that I like to call 'The Dream World'. This world doesn't seem to follow the same rules as our own, because it basically acts like a dream! Here, anything your mind wanders to will become reality, but do be careful! Just like a dream, your mind tends to wander around on it's own, so you aren't exactly in control of what you dream of. You might envision yourself as a Superhero who can fly around saving the world, but the next?"
"YOU COULD BE FALLING FOR YOUR LIFE!!!"
"Haha, just kidding! You aren't really in any danger of dying here in this world, I think. But uh... try not to die anyways? I'm not sure what will happen to your brain activity if you do, don't want anyone ending up in a coma while in here... I don't have that kind of insurance if something goes wrong, so don't make me regret this!"
Although this world was very quirky and strange, causing people's perceptions of reality to warp entirly, she was almost confident that she saw some other people from the Fantasy World walking around these parts. After getting into a VR Headset herself, Macro had contacted King Arthur and had set up similar technology over there so that they too, could go to this dream world. The only question left was... could there be a way to allow a person to use the Dream World as a tunnel to arrive in the other world?
As this collaboration effort between Macro and King Arthur had continued, they both failed to realize just what kind of world they had accidently stumbled into...
The Dream World was a place that had been created by the Legendary Darkrai. Originally, this Legendary Creature had only intended it to feast upon the dreams of those in the Fantasy World, but now that everyone was jumping in left and right, it was like a bunch of bugs landing directly on the spider's web, ready to be devoured...

Our Halloween Themed Event has arrived! With a scientific breakthrough, Macro and King Arthur believe they might've found a tunnel that connects both worlds, and they want everyone to go and investigate this new Dream World place! Unfortunately for them, it is the home to a Feral Darkrai, who certainly doesn't mind feasting upon everyone's dreams and nightmares!

Now that the dreaming has begun, showcase what kind of wacky dreams your characters can find themselves getting into! Remember, they are not fully in control of their own dreams, and are also dreaming alongside other people who are dreaming! Anything is possible here in the dream world!

Darkrai has begun attacking by sending Nightmares your way! Fight off your greatest fears and try to wake up before it's too late!
Now that you are in Darkrai's Dream World, it can read your mind and find out what you are truly afraid of, whether it's exploiting psychological trauma that you've dealt with or flat out scaring you Freddy Kruger style. This world bends to Darkrai's will and it will use all of your fears to feed itself. Your only hope of escaping is seeing past reality warping around you and stand your ground! Try to combat against it with your own dreams or outsmart it somehow! You can also attempt to work alongside others if you manage to stick together, hopefully Darkrai doesn't pit you against one another though...

YOU MUST GRADE YOUR OWN ART! Please use a copy of this calculator to determine how many points your piece will get! Then, head on over to the database editor and add it to your character's page! If you have trouble with any of these steps, please let the mod team know!
Artwork must at least be colored and half body.
- Backgrounds are not required! (But will earn you more points!)
- Written Entries are allowed for anyone!
- 1500 words required individually 2500 words required if collabing with partner (or you're using two of your own characters) (+1000 words for every additional character of yours you also include in it).
- You cannot do both a Written Entry and a Art submission for the same prompt (unless otherwise stated)
- RP Logs are okay! They must be at least 2000 words.
- Please ask for permission to use another person's character in your art if you aren't sure they're okay with it!
- Collabs are allowed! Both members will get the same amount of points for a collab. This only applies to a maximum of 3 people and must be done in the traditional sketch/line/color type of collab! Mass "Insert your character" collabs will not count for this.
