Go on a mission
"Take care of things close to home first. Straighten up your room before you save the world. Then save the world." (Ron Padgett, in "How to Become Perfect")
If your room is more or less tidy, you may be OK for an assignment at Ankevo.
In Ankevo, there is no Wi-Fi, no electricity, no running water, no motorization. This poses some practical problems that are quickly solved in a life in harmony with the Ankevians, the land and the sea.
However, there is an eco-tourism structure made up of 4 bungalows self-managed by the villagers, justified by the beauty of the site, the quality of the welcome and the extraordinary energy of the children. We sleep in these bungalows on the beach, to the rhythm of sunrises and sunsets and the stars of the southern hemisphere.
We regularly organise on-site missions.
Ankevo's network is made up of teachers, the midwife (dispensary), women who are very present in the village, village elders and chiefs (fokontany), representatives of the different clans, fishermen, farmers and a flock of children...
You want to lead a solidarity experience, live another form of tourism with commitment:
Want to discover or participate in humanitarian work
To offer time for children. Training their teachers
Completing a medical or other internship through an NGO
Participate in the life and animation of a village
Desire for elsewhere, curiosity about the distance of difference
And also simply enjoy the huge lagoons, mangroves and beaches, fishing in pirogues, lobsters, eating mangoes, drinking baobab juices...
For 3 days, 3 weeks or even 3 months or more, the association is looking for volunteers willing to build and maintain lasting relationships with all the project leaders.
We have the means to make the stay useful and dense, with support from the locals of the Ménabé.
Do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
