• The Pirogues et Baobabs General Assembly will take place on June 22nd, 2025, at 19 rue de La Reynie, 75004 Paris, access code 24A38, at 10:30 AM and also via video call. Agenda: 1/ Election of the board and chairperson; 2/ Moral and financial report; 3/ Review of projects and upcoming missions.
  
  

• The Pirogues et Baobabs origianal french website is now translated and maintained in English, and may soon be available in Malagasy as well. Also, a new website is planned for the commune of Bélo sur Mer.
  
  

• The application submitted to the Bel Foundation concerns the construction of a shelter, a canteen and a kitchen in Ankevo sur Mer, in addition to the ongoing project of building six permanent classrooms. We hope for rapid funding, with the new canteen expected to be operational in the second half of 2025.
  
  

• Status update and funding request by Pêcheurs de Perles for the “One Well per Quarter” program in 2025.
  
  

• After three years of administrative compliance (civil registration, passport visa, etc.), extensive medical exams and multiple trips between Ankevo and Tana, Parfait, now 7 years old, underwent surgery in early June in Switzerland for his rare heart condition (tetralogy of Fallot). He is doing well. He is hosted in Geneva by the volunteers of Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque for his operation and two months of post-op care. He is followed up in Madagascar by La Chaîne de l’Espoir and P&B.

• January: François Lahirinoko, a former teacher at Ankevo and since 2017 coordinator of the association, is elected Mayor of Bélo/mer with more than 60% of the votes. The villages of Ankevo are attached to this vast rural commune which has about ten similar villages (10 to 12,000 inhabitants in total)

• Update on drinking water infrastructure:- Assessment of the water supply in Ankevo Terre et Mer, - File for the recommissioning of eight traditional pumps in different fokontany of the municipality of Bélo sur mer
