Towards a desired development

The Ankevo area is located just above the southern area of Madagascar where the "kéré", famine, is almost constantly threatening and raging. Ankevo is not affected by hunger to date, but the life of the Vezo fishermen is very precarious. For Sakalave farmers, the lean periods between two harvests are also very difficult.

The Malagasy bush villages are neglected by central administrations and regional policies. The infrastructure is zero, the management of the community is deficient and the primary needs are immense.

We have chosen to work on the essentials with three priorities: access to water, health and schooling.

In concrete terms, this translates into:

The creation of drinking water supply systems and the digging of wells

The management of a dispensary, the provision of basic care and medicines, the management of social assistance for hospitalization...

The development and maintenance of schools, their canteen, the recruitment and training of instituteur.es, the support of children during the graduation certificate, the payment and monitoring of scholarships for secondary schooling

This is a long-term action. Children who drink healthy, well-nourished, healthy water have a better education. These children who attend school more regularly become adults who take better care of themselves. They will care for and educate their own children better.
