Once you have completed your Eagle Scout Rank Application, you can assemble an Eagle Binder for a final District review before your Eagle Board of Review will be scheduled.
Below are the steps to building your Eagle Binder:
Your Eagle Binder should be neat and clean like you are submitting a college or job application. It is the first impression the Eagle Board of Review will have of you before speaking with you.
Use a three-ring binder for your Eagle Binder with clear sleeve protectors for each sheet. For your Blue Cards you can use a Baseball card plastic sleeve holder.
Include in your Eagle Binder in the following order:
Completed Eagle Scout Rank Application (signed by you, your Unit Leader and Unit Committee Chair)
Statement of Ambitions, Life Purpose and Leadership Positions held by you in and out of Scouting
A declaration of religious beliefs signed by you and your parents IF YOU DO NOT have a Religious Leader for your Eagle Scout Rank Application reference (Requirement 2) that represents a formal religious institution
Official Advancement Summary Report from Scoutbook
Blue Cards
Completed Eagle Scout Service Project Workbook (including all signatures)
Below are the steps to schedule the review:
Send the District Advancement Chair an e-mail with attached scans or good photos of both your completed Eagle Scout Rank Application and Advancement Summary Report.
A preliminary check will be made of your provided scans to ensure there are no date irregularities that can be corrected prior to meeting in person.
Once verified, the District Advancement Chair will schedule an in person Eagle Binder review.
Bring your Scout Book and completed Eagle Binder to the District Eagle Binder review and it is highly encouraged that you be in full uniform. It is recommended that your Eagle Binder be a three-ring binder, with individual clear sleeves for each sheet. This allows for easy review without risking damage to any pages.
A District Binder Checklist is completed by the District Advancement Chair during the review.
Once the Eagle Binder completes District review, the District Advancement Chair will keep the binder and deliver it to the District Eagle Board of Review Chair. The Scout Book is returned and you will bring your book to your scheduled Eagle Board of Review.
A very detailed checklist for building an Eagle Binder can be found at the bottom of the Eagle Rank Checklist (found on the Eagle Application page of this site).
