Purolator Specific Driver Training

PICKUP PROCESS:

1. Arrive on time to our warehouse or the Purolator terminal (your PigeonShip terminal manager will inform you of the arrival time).

2. Park vehicle at a legal parking spot at our warehouse, or at a specified PigeonShip (PS) pick up bay if parking at the Purolator terminal.

3. Meet the PigeonShip Lead Driver/Supervisor and introduce that you are new driver who has been assigned a route.

4. If needed, help the PS team sort packages by FSA / Postal Code (only required at select pickup locations).

5. Identify the FSA you will be picking up by checking your bundle in "Active Deliveries" in the PS app, or by asking the Lead Driver/Supervisor.

6. Before scanning parcels, change the PS app scanner to the "Purolator" scanner by selecting "Delivery Details" and click "Purolator" scanner (SEE SCREENSHOT BELOW).

7. Begin scanning your assigned packages. The route is optimized so that each scan will provide a unique stop number that will pop up on your screen.

8. Hand write the number on the package and sort it onto a skid (Ex. keep packages numbered 1-10 together, 11-20 together, and so on).

9. If while scanning an error comes up as “Not Found” , set that package aside in a separate pile and notify the manager at the end, but continue scanning all remaining items.

10. If while scanning an error comes up as “Request Forbidden” , set that package aside in a separate pile and notify the manager at the end, but continue scanning all remaining items.

11. All packages that were set aside in steps 9 & 10 will be assigned to you via a separate bundle to be picked up/scanned by you.

12. Once all packages are scanned properly, the app will grey out the scanning section, and you can then show the Lead Driver/Manager and get approval to move onto the next step.

13. Once manager approves, take a Master Pickup Photo showing all packages. If all packages cannot be shown in one Master Photo, take a 2nd Master Photo.

14. Once Master Photo is uploaded, you may click the "Pickup Complete" button (SEE SCREENSHOT BELOW).

15. Now that scanning and pickup is complete you can start loading up your vehicle according to the piles of packages arranged earlier. Make sure you load your vehicle by starting from the higher numbered packages first and then lower numbered packages last. If you received any of the "Not found" or " Request Forbidden" packages in a separate bundle, be sure to place these packages to the side in your vehicle and these can be delivered at any time during your route by switching between bundles in the PS app.

PERFORMING DELIVERIES:

1. Once all packages are carefully loaded in your vehicle, make sure that all doors of vehicles are securely closed.

2. You are ready to head for your first delivery by clicking on the yellow section marked "Proceed to Delivery" at the bottom of the PS app (under "View Native Map") (SEE SCREENSHOT BELOW). After clicking on "Proceed to Delivery", the app will move you over to the next tab showing a green pickup and delivery address at the top.

3. Click on yellow "Delivery Address" section of the app to take you to your first stop by selecting your preferred GPS.

4. Click on the yellow "View Notes" section in the middle of the app (see screenshot below) and pay careful attention to any specific delivery notes or instructions, including possible gate or buzz codes.

5. Click on the "In Transit" button at bottom center of the app (SEE SCREENSHOT BELOW), then proceed to drive to your first drop off location.

6. Once at drop off location, take the package out of vehicle and confirm that the address written on the package label is the same street address that appears on the house that you are standing in front of and are delivering to, and also check the stop number that you marked on the package as stop "1".

7. Do a Dropoff Scan while taking the package out of your vehicle, this will eliminate the likelihood of taking the wrong package out of your vehicle.

8. Take the package to the house or apartment door and make sure the spot is safe to drop. GENTLY set the package on the doorstep.

9. Take at least 2 Dropoff Photos - 1 photo of where you are leaving the package, and a 2nd Photo of the building/house with the street address number showing and package label showing. Multiple Dropoff Photos can be taken by clicking the Dropoff Photo button again.

10. After taking the Photos, knock on the door or ring the bell and then return back to your vehicle. ***If the package requires a signature, it cannot be left unattended. You MUST wait for the customer to make sure you cana complete the signature delivery process. Due to COVID, Recipients are not allowed to touch your phone. You, the driver, will write the Recipients name in the signature box on the app. If no one is available to accept a signature delivery, you will need to mark it as "Delivery Attempted" (see below) and return the package to the Purolator terminal at the end of your route.

11. You can now click the green “Mark Delivered” button for that order in your app, and it will automatically move you to the next delivery in your route.
