After that, you have to talk to Gill in the Hidden Village to determine how many completion points are required to unlock this location on the World Map, whether you have reached the full-expansion completion score of 420 points or not. If you fulfilled this requirement, the World's Former End is unlocked. It can also be checked under the statistics tab as well.
As it is located at the south of the Hidden Village, the World's Former End is a forested area much like the village itself. It is a relatively small area with straightforward objectives, by reaching the top of the mountain, falling into the bottom of the mountain (you will receive the "Last Song of Earth" achievement beforehand), and then defeating the Great Boss of Earth, after which you will receive the "Collapse to the Great Boss" achievement.
Upon entering the area, you will find yourself at the foot of a small mountain. To climb it, you'll have to use the Javelin to climb the stone walls and use the Artifact to reveal some invisible platforms that can help you climb up further. At the top of the mountain there is a passage blocked by stones that must be blown up with Bombs or a charged Javelin. Once that's done, you can enter the mountain and go into the next room, which features four strange capsules embedded into the cave wall. Once you approach the capsules, a song called The Last Song of Earth will play and you'll get the achievement of the same name. You can also go farther to the right to the other side of the mountain, where you'll find a cliff with a beautiful sunset view in the background.
At the rightmost side of the mountain, you can fall down further below it, after which you will fall into the southernmost pit of the area where there are two Plant Dogs found before the entrance to defeat the Great Boss Of Earth. You don't be afraid of the Plant Dogs' attacks before reaching the boss entrance, as you have a maximum of 210 HP before the Great Boss of Earth fight, and Plant Dogs' attack damage ranges from 9 HP for the contact damage to 12 HP for the spore attacks, and the latter attack's damage shares the same value as the Great Boss of Earth's contact and typical plasma attacks, albeit the latter being much more frequent in terms of interval. You have to take well over 18 Plant Dogs' spore attacks to kill you.
The Great Boss of Earth fight is explained below.
The Great Boss of Earth is the intermediate boss in Phoenotopia: The Lost Journey, and is the final boss prior to the expansion stages (story chapters 5 to 12) in this said expansion version. It is located at the very end of the World's Former End area where the entrance is met after the area with two Plant Dogs, where it serves as the more powerful variation of Master Computer, which the latter boss is required to be defeat to unlock this most pivotal boss of the game. Just like the Master Computer, the Great Boss of Earth follows a specific pattern of attacks from which it never deviates. These attacks are as follows:
[Phase 1]: The Great Boss of Earth will shoot multiple small plasma beams rapidly and seek Gale. Its small plasma beams' damage is 12 HP (8 HP with the Ancient Armor equipped).
[Phase 2]: It will shoot a dead ray of plasma beams in two directions for a few seconds. Its dead ray of plasma beams' damage is 12 HP (8 HP with the Ancient Armor equipped).
[Phase 3]: Next, it will splat some heavy duty explosions at random locations with an incoming warning sign shown before the explosion. Its explosions deal a damage of of 16 HP (11 HP with the Ancient Armor equipped).
[Phase 4]: It will seek you before shooting a big electric magic in one specific direction twice. Its magic damage deals a damage of 16 HP (11 HP with the Ancient Armor equipped). In addition, you can only attack the boss during this phase.
[Special phase]: If you not attack the boss even with only one hit, it will release a giant electric magic that deals massive damage to Gale, even when you are far away from the boss. Its giant electric magic deals a damage of 20 HP (14 HP with the Ancient Armor equipped).
In order to attack the Great Boss of Earth, the player will have to wait for the stage where the boss splat some explosions at random locations or when the boss is shooting a big electric magic that the boss seek you before shooting it. Be wary that you need to take many attacks as possible during the later two phases of the boss' attack or otherwise the boss will release a giant electric magic that deals a massive 20 damage to the player at a maximum, and potentially waste the time and food while defeating this boss.
This pivotal boss has 500 HP in total, slightly higher than that of the Master Computer with 450 HP. It takes 25 normal Morning Star attacks to defeat this boss.
Aside from Mul Cavern, this is the only location where the Blue Wisps appear spontaneously rather than being limited to Zophiel Statues.
The Last Song of Earth is the only song in the soundtrack that is previously unlisted, though it becomes available after purchasing and downloading the soundtrack, until the Lost Journey expansion has been developed.
The same soundtrack also plays in World's End in Phoenotopia: Awakening, which is likely the replacement of this area.
