S-can motor test mounts through two 3mm countersunk holes using machine screws and nuts or self-tapping/wood screws, or double-sided “servo” tape Platen disc has a hub that can be drilled and tapped for extra security on 2mm motor shafts
Installation
Mount the test stand to a piece of furniture grade plywood, UHMW, Plexiglas/Lexan or something suitable of a thickness of about ¼” to ½”
It is recommended to use servo tape in all cases as it works well as a dampener for those out of balance motors we all seem to have
Apply a small strip of reflective tape (supplied with tachometer) onto one side of the platen disc
Press fit the platen disc onto the motor shaft. The platen disc may need to be reamed out with a 2 mm drill in order to better fit onto the motor shaft. Do not over drill. If the platen becomes loose on the motor shaft you can drill and tap the hub to accept a 2mm grub screw.
Slide your motor into the mount, either endbell end in or out
Attach power wires (the same way that they would be attached in your slot car)
