Once you complete your final exam and become a police constable you will join the division Emergency Response Patrol Team(ERPT) Where your job will be to respond to ongoing situations and ensuring the scene is contained to prevent interruption whilst the situation is handled. This part of the handbook will explain what each piece of scene containment is used for as well as some photos of some good examples of scene containment, during your basic training your trainer will also show you some examples as well as getting you to conduct some scene containment.
Cones - cones should be used to divert and stop traffic and should be used on the roads alongside signs to ensure that we have an appropriate amount of scene containment.
Orange and Metal Barriers - barriers should be used to block pedestrian walkways, exits and entrances. We should not be using these on roads unless absolutely needed.
Traffic Signs - police signs should be used both on pedestrian walkways and on the road. Please make sure to use appropriate signage such as no entry, traffic diversion signs as well as incident ahead signs.
Worklights - worklights should only be used in situations where lighting is low.
Speed Zones - Speed zones should be placed at all scenes. These should be kept to an appropriate size and the speeds should be above 30mph. These should not be placed down mid pursuit etc.
Anything else in the Traffic Menu should only be used where absolutely necessary
These are only some examples, more information can be found HERE (Credits to the ERPT Command team)
In some places like the Bank of England and stores there may be prefabs for scene containment. How it works is write /trafficmenu and go down to scene containment and choose what prefab you need to use depending on where you are. After you choose what one you need to do press enter so a hologram comes up. After it's there go up to each bit and press E to place it down.
Down below you can see how to do Scene Containment as well as how to do Prefabs.
