This year's CWSF was virtual and took place on computer screens across the country over the week of May 16th. Hunter Saueracker and Adelle Levesque from Falher, and Tanya Werner and Abby Bilyk from High Prairie represented the Peace Country at the event that gathered hundreds of the country's top young scientists for a week of competition, discovery, and celebration.
On behalf of the PCRSF committee, we would like to congratulate each of you for the countless hours of hard work and dedication that earned you a spot among the best and brightest in the country. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors, and hope to see you again next year.

You've come up with the idea. You've tested your hypothesis. You've written up your results. You've presented your projects to the judges. Now, you wait with great anticipation the announcement of this year's winners and the projects selected to represent Peace Country at this year's virtual Canada Wide Science Fair taking place May 16-20.
Please take a few minutes to WATCH the PCRSF President Mr. Jonathan Pittman announcing this year's winners! (If you have issues with the video, please try watching it in a different quality level - 240p and 480p may experience issues.) If you prefer seeing things in writing, the results are also available in this document. Special awards badges have also been pinned on the winning projects in the Project Zone.
On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to congratulate all of the students who participated in the 2022 PCRSF. The hard work and dedication that you have displayed over the past several months is amazing and well worth celebrating - CONGRATULATIONS!!! We hope that you take what you have learned through this process and take it forward with you to do great things. One of those great things may be another wonderful science fair project for next year's fair, where we hope to see you in person once again!
Finally, we would like to thank the people who helped make this event a reality. Thank you to the judges that took time out of your days to provide feedback and guidance to our young scientists. Thank you to our sponsors - in particular Mercer and International Paper. Thank you to the PCRSF committee who put together the event and ensured that it ran (relatively) smoothly. And thank you to all the students that took the time to prepare amazing science fair projects.
Thank you and congratulations again. We hope to welcome everyone back to an in-person fair next year!

The 2022 edition of the Peace Country Regional Science Fair is NOW OPEN. Please visit the Project Zone to view this year's entries. I would like to congratulate all of this year's participants on submitting a project to the regional fair! This is quite the accomplishment and we are proud of the work that you have done to get here!
STUDENTS: please pay close attention to your emails over the coming days, as you will be receiving messages from our head judge, Mr. Tony Nickonchuk, to organize virtual judging calls later in the week. After judging has taken place, we will announce this year's winners with a video posted to this page - so be sure to keep an eye out for that this weekend.
Should anyone have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact a member of our organizing committee,
Good luck, and have fun!

Students looking to register for this year's fair should click HERE to begin the process. We will be using a new platform this year that comes to us thanks to Youth Science Canada (YSC) and powered by ProjectBoard. Instructions are provided throughout the process, but if you encounter any issues, please try looking through our registration instructions HERE, or contact Adam Rhodes by email (admrhodes@gmail.com). We look forward to seeing your projects over the coming weeks.

As in years past we have designed three posters that anyone can use to advertise this year's fair. Each poster illustrates an interesting scientific fact or finding and includes links to explore further. You can find the PDFs below.
On a more logistical note, we anticipate to be using the virtual platform "ProjectBoard" for our fair and we will provide more details as the fair approaches - be sure to check back here regularly for updates.

We are excited to announce that the 2021 edition of the PCRSF will take place between March 13 and 18. Similar to last year, this year's fair will be virtual, and will include the submission of a video presentation of the students' projects and judging done via tele- or video-conferencing. At this stage of the preparations, we are in the process of developing the final schedule. To help with that process, we have opened the School Registration for this year's fair to be filled out by the region's science teachers. While we do understand that many schools have chosen not to do science fair at school this year, we still hope that the students who qualified last year will choose to participate, and maybe with some encouragement we can get some students doing new projects this year!
Keep your eyes on this website for additional details as the date of the fair approaches. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Kristen Blanchette (kblanchette@hpsd.ca) or any other member of the PCRSF committee.
