In addition to information concerning the fair, you will be able to find various resources that will help you teach the scientific method and bring enthusiasm to science.
Over the first week of June, five young scientists from the Peace Region displayed their science fair projects at the national Canada Wide Science Fair (CWSF) in Fredericton, New Brunswick. Elianna Eagles, Hannah Klinck, and Paige Trofimenkoff - all from Valleyview - and Maëlle Bergeron and Harris Doucette, from the Peace River area, were among 390 students across the country who gathered at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton for a week of science, exploration, and celebration.
The reigonal committee would like to extend a heartfelt 'thank you' to all of this year's CWSF Finalists. You were all wonderful ambassadors of the Peace Country! You should all be extremely proud of your accomplishments and we are excited to see where you go next!
We would like to extend a special congratulations to Miss Elianna Eagles, whose wonderful project "From Crises to Catalysts: Harnessing Algae's Power with a Cost-Effective, Buoyant Biophotovoltaic" earned a Bronze Medal. Congratulations Elianna! We look forward to what you bring to the regional fair next year!
The CWSF experience could not have happened without the effort from two dedicated volunteers. Mrs. Kathryn Gauthier and Mrs. Christin Trofimenkoff served as adult chaperones - or "delegates" - for the week in Fredericton. Thank you so much for offering your time and experience to make this week such a success for our student finalists!
Finally, we would like to thank our sponsors for supporting our region's finalists in this year's fairs. Thank you very much!
We hope to see everyone again next year at the 2026 regional fair! Until then, have a wonderful summer!

As the late winter sun was peaking over the frosty east hill and spilling into the mighty Peace River valley for one of the last times this year, students from across the region gathered along the banks of the frozen river to share their enthusiasm for science at this year's Peace Country Regional Science Fair.
It was wonderful to welcome all the students, teachers, and volunteers to another Regional Science Fair (the 41st in fact). Please have a look at this year's PROGRAM, the PROJECT ZONE filled with this year's participants and their projects, and PHOTOS of the event.
The organizers would like to extend a heart-felt THANK YOU to the volunteer judges that shared their time and expertise with our region's budding young scientists - without you this event cannot happen. We would also like to acknowledge the generous support of our sponsors for making it possible to host this wonderful event. Mercer Peace River was this year's Platinum sponsor and has been supporting youth science in the Peace for many years. The Holy Family Catholic Regional Division's generous donation of the venue is greatly appreciated. We would also like to thank our other sponsors from across the Peace Country including: the MD of Greenview, Pembina, Baytex Energy, Weaver Group LTD, Talon Electric, Boucher Bros Lumber, Tim Hortons, No Frills, and Peace Country Co-op. Last but certainly not least are the members of the organizing committee who have volunteered their time to organize and put on the event. Thank you to everyone who made this year's event possible!
Finally, the students! You are the reason for this event! Congratulations to all of you for completing a science fair project and presenting it at this year's fair! You should all be proud of the work that you have done, regardless of the results. We hope that everyone had a great day and we hope to see you all again next year.
