ECIS General Conference (2016)- Managing the Extended Essay, The Ultimate Collaboration (see below)
Teachers Steve Loschi, Courtney Park, Krista Quint and Stacy Giandalia (now at UNIS in New York) represented IST at the ECIS Conference in Barcelona this weekend, with a presentation on ‘The Ultimate Collaboration: where creatures in Science, Arts, English, Library and Technology meet.’ The presentation showcased this unique and creative collaborative Grade 6 unit, and gave practical step-by-step instructions for using iBooks Author and stop motion animation. The presentation was well received by participants in a range of disciplines, many of whom mentioned that it used hands-on differentiated methods to ensure that all participants gained something applicable for their own classroom. Click here to watch a video about the Ultimate Animal project created specially for the presentation by Moustafa Ghaddar in Grade 11. The presentation can be seen here, and handout is here.
