Expression: the Power of Stories

At Howard Connect Academy I teach 2 Related Arts classes, grade 7 & 8, for a quarter term each. I decided to focus the class, called "Expression", on the Power of Stories. I want our students to own their own life stories and realize they get to write their own ending. I want them to understand that stories can help us to overcome difference, be more empathetic, and learn about people that are different to us. We read stories, watch stories, listen to stories, and write stories - and hopefully become better people along the way.
