Mod help & documentation

Parkitect has an active modding community trying to improve the game by adding new decoration objects, rides and even gameplay features. In total, Parkitect has more than 300 mods available on Steam Workshop and mod.io which players can download and install for free. With so many mods available, it might be hard to choose the right mods for your build. On this webpage you can find information about the best and most popular mods for every skill level.

This page contains a list with some of the best mods available for Parkitect, based on popularity and quality. Every mod includes a description and a download link for Steam Workshop. Below the recommended modlist is an overview of the best Parkitect mod creators.

Installing mods

There are two ways to install mods:

If installed correctly, the mod name should show up in the mod menu found in the Parkitect settings menu. Here you can also disable or enable the mods you have installed. Mods get enabled by default when installing them. Enabling more mods slows down the performance of the game, so it's better to disable mods when ynot in use.

Using mods

All mods have a tutorial or description available on the Steam Workshop. Here you can find information about how to use them. Some mods have key-bindings or custom settings available. These can be found in the 'control bindings' and 'mod settings' in the Parkitect settings menu respectively.

Due to limitations of the mod API, custom tracked rides and rollercoaster tracks don't come automatically with the right cars. It is possible to use ingame cars or install custom trains / cars seperatly from the Steam Workshop or mod.io. Using Coaster Anarchy it is possible to use all train types on all tracks.

T010

Scenery and rides

Over the past few years, T010 has added so much to Parkitect. The main area of focus has been new deco content which effortlessly blends in with the style of the game. T010's mods have allowed players to add so much to their parks, especially in terms of backstage areas. Each mod pack contains so many pieces and hidden gems - such as the sandcastle kit found in Spongitect.

As well as deco, T010 has produced some flat ride types and custom trains. One of the most used ones is The Magic Cube, it's hard to explain what it is exactly but every builder should be using it.

Best Mods:

Marnit

Waterslides, rollercoasters and gameplay mods

Marnit has been there since the very birth of Parkitect and was one of the game's original testers. Probably most famous for Construction Anarchy and Coaster Anarchy - which have allowed builders to build deco off the grid and create much more realistic coaster layouts!

We would say that Marnit is the king of new track rides, bringing amazing new rides to the game such as water slides, the massive fourth dimension coaster and the insane trackless dark ride.

Favourite mod gets awarded to Waterslides! For a long time the community has wanted to build water parks and now players can (we just need to ignore that peeps are wearing their clothes still!). Marnit's signature is allowing players to 'paint' their track segments to achieve further track options which is simply insane.

Best Mods:

Redfield

Props and rides

Redfield joined the community back in 2020 and has made a great contribution to the modding scene.

Props Galore is a vital mod which adds over 150 deco items to the game, with each one fitting perfectly into the games style. Fantasy Trains has added over 20 new coaster trains to the game, our favourites include the Manta Flying Coaster Trains and the Hot Rod Launched Coaster Trains.

LIVELYENGINEER

Scenery and shapes

LivelyEngineer is well known for creating one of the most useful scenery mods in Parkitect. The Geometritect mod is the best kit for base shapes available and makes for a very powerful toolset combined with Construction Anarchy and Rotation Anarchy.

LivelyEngineer created the Box of Rooms and "Low" Poly Trees mod as well. Make sure to check them out!

Maxfreak

Folliage and path textures

Maxfreak hasn't created many mods, we admit that, but if there is one mod that is guaranteed to make your parks look the most beautiful possible ever then that mod is Foliage Essentials 2 (aka FE2).

Maxfreak knows his plants, so much so that he was invited to contribute new foliage to the Booms & Blooms DLC and FE2 adds so much to the game.

Scenery Essentials is Max's current baby, so far it contains many deco items for Halloween and Winter. We have assurances that the new themes will be just as amazing and we heard rumours about a very useful modular terrain pack which is in the works.

Best Mods:

Tr!star

Rides, effects and scenery

Another modder who has been part of the community for as long as we can remember. Tristar has produced some vital mods over the years. Camera Modify is the only camera mod you will need, it extends the in-game camera so there's much more flexibility in the angles and zoom distance - this is the only camera mod that will not impact your fps!

Future & Space is a great sci-fi deco pack that includes a number of great pieces, just check out that amazing screenshot to the left!

The Special Effects kit adds a number of water effects, explosions and other effects that can all be triggered by the effects controller from the official DLC.

Best Mods:

Distantz

Rides

If you sign up to the mods made by Distantz then you are massively expanding your flat ride library and number of coaster trains that are available to you in-game.

Distantz has produced so many gorgeous ride models that look so good when used in Parkitect. All rides are based on real world counterparts, that were missed in the game - but no more!

MrVanderPants

Rides

This amazing creator has come out of nowhere making flat rides, trains, trams, and more! They has every ride that will fill that niche of theme you're looking for whether it be pirate, or steampunk, or even Victorian, they've got you covered!

Paratrooper is probably our favorite but Kraken Attack comes in a close second, with some very creative rides!

BioBazard

Rides

Biobazard has shown up in the community a few years after Parkitect has launched and has released a series of highly detailed coaster cars since then.

ChrisBradel

Gameplay mods

ChrisBradel's modding journey began in 2022, and it's been a steady climb ever since. ChrisBradel started with scenery mods, but passion for the game has led to tackle more intricate gameplay mods that demand some serious coding expertise. It's clear that ChrisBradel isn't afraid of a challenge, and the Parkitect community is all the better for it. Make sure to check out his Material Painter, that allows to paint all ingame objects invisible, glass, water/lava and even an image or video texture.
