Pack Meeting - December 9th - 6pm - Duffy Elementary
The Webelos Rank is for youth in the 4th grade (ages 9–10). “Webelos” stands for “WE’ll BE LOyal Scouts”, and it marks a major transition in a Scout’s Cub Scouting journey as they begin preparing for the move to Scouts BSA.
The Webelos program emphasizes increased independence, leadership development, and advanced outdoor skills, while continuing to build character, citizenship, and personal fitness. Unlike earlier ranks, Webelos work more directly with their den leader rather than an adult partner, reflecting their growing maturity.
Key Features:
Adventure-Based Program: To earn the Webelos rank badge, Scouts must complete six required adventures, at least two elective adventure, and show an understanding of the Scout Oath and Law.
Increased Responsibility: Webelos take a more active role in planning and leading their activities and begin learning the expectations of the Scouts BSA program.
Preparation for Transition: Skills learned in Webelos—including camping, first aid, fitness, and leadership—lay the groundwork for advancement to the Arrow of Light rank and eventual crossover to a Scouts BSA troop.
Uniform: Webelos may wear either the blue Cub Scout uniform or the tan Scouts BSA-style uniform with Webelos colors and the Webelos plaid neckerchief. Webelos are encourages to get the Webelos colors to display their adventure pins earned.
