Step 2: Adding products

Once your store is created, you can add products. A video walkthrough is also available at the end of this page.

Please note: You cannot sell items featuring licensed characters on our platform. Items can be ''inspired by'' and name appropriately but figurines are not accepted. If you have any questions, please contact me at hello@ottawaartisans.com

  1. Navigate to product listings

Click on ''Add products'' (green button on the top left)

2. Add the product information.

Don't forget to add a clear description and some product tags.

Product tags: Are keywords that are used for searching products in the search bar of the website - Make sure that you use as many as you see fit for each your products and don't forget to add the name of your shop as a tag!

Product image: Add as many images as you want. Just make sure to click save before you start adding the photos as the information entered in the form will be lost if it's not saved.

Collections: Are where your products will appear in the categories at the front page of the site. Pick ALL that apply and don't forget to pick some sub-collections. The sub-collections will help keep your products organized on your seller's page as they will show up on the left of your profile. Note that you should aim to place your items in RELEVANT categories. Putting them in incorrect categories only damages the buyer experience and creates frustration.

Product additional details: Are used to find your products through a search engine like google. The title meta field should be the title of your product and the description, a one-sentence about the product.

Requires shipping box: ALWAYS LEAVE THIS BOX CHECKED (Even if you will provide a local pick-up option). This allows your products to be ''checked-out'' at cart.

3.1 Variants

Variants are used to add more options to you products. (Size, color, etc.)

Start by clicking ''Add variant''.

Then Add the different variants of the product.

When they are entered correctly, you will see them in a green box. You should add an option for each of the possibility.

For example: Small, Medium, Large.

3.2 Variants

If some of the variants are more expensive (different material), click on ''Edit details'' to bulk edit them.

3.3 Variants

Finalize the variants by click the three dots and the edit button to add a custom image, change the price, the quantity, etc.

Once you are in a variant, you can use the menu on the bottom left to cycle through them without having to go back each time.

Variants Common issues

If you are working on your product and you notice that you are missing some variant options, here's how to add them after the fact.

Don't forget to edit the price to reflect each variant. In this option the edits prices could be:

  • 1 road with no name is 38$ (Variant line: One road, No)

  • 1 road with name is 42$ (Variant line: One road, Yes)

Adding SHIPPING to your products

Even though we strongly encourage our buyers to do some local pick-ups, shipping is extremely popular and should be integrated to your products if possible. Here is a quick video and a PDF walkthrough that explains how to set it up.

*Note that the %15 commission from Ottawa Artisans is taken on shipping so please adjust your prices accordingly.

Please watch this quick video to learn how to integrate shipping or consult this PDF guide.
