SUMMARY
Liturgical and Sacramental studies have made me realize more about how we become intimate with God through tangible signs of His grace. Of the sacraments, Baptism impressed me the most because it is the source of Christian life. I learned that Baptism erases original sin and brings us into the Church. It is a gift from God, either given to us as a baby through the faith of our parents or as a grown-up through our own choice. Baptism is not merely a ritual; it represents our death and resurrection with Christ. The term itself signifies "to immerse," which reminds us that we are spiritually born again. Through it, we participate in Christ's suffering, death, and resurrection. I was also intrigued by the various forms of Baptism water, blood (martyrdom), and desire (for those who had planned to be baptized but died before receiving it).
This sacrament makes an indelible impression on our souls, inviting us to live as Christ. It reminds me that faith is a journey, and through Baptism, we are never alone. We are members of God's family, guided by His love and grace along the way.
