Invitation

Dear Colleagues,

As you will certainly remember the Organization for the Phyto-Taxonomic Investigation of the Mediterranean Area (OPTIMA) organizes every three years an international Meeting structured in multidisciplinary Symposia which cover different aspects of Mediterranean botany in its widest sense.

The XVI OPTIMA Meeting will be held in Athens from 2 to 5 October 2019. The Meeting’s web site (https://sites.google.com/view/optima2019) could be consulted for more information about this important event.

Among the various interesting Symposia to be held, we would like to draw your attention to the Symposium titled “Fungal diversity in the Mediterranean area: recent advances and future prospects”, which will give us (mycologists) the opportunity to get together, present and discuss our pertinent research results, and develop new collaborations. This Symposium will consist of one plenary lecture and five oral presentations, while a poster session will be also organized to host contributions from participants.

Therefore, we would like to warmly invite you in the upcoming Symposium and we are convinced that the scientific value of your contributions in conjunction with the rest of the XVI OPTIMA Meeting’s scheduled activities set the frame for a memorable event.

We are looking forward to welcoming you in Athens!

Yours, with best regards,

Georgios I. Zervakis & Giuseppe Venturella

On behalf of the OPTIMA Commission on Fungi
