Supporting Transitions from Primary to College
Bus About Northcross Intermediate
In 2021, students at Northcross Intermediate were asked about moving from primary to intermediate school. They shared their feelings about the change and what they were nervous or excited about, such as knowing the school, finding the bathrooms, and getting lost. They also liked meeting their new teachers before starting. This led to the "Busabout" project. Now, Intermediate students visit local primary schools to talk to Year 6 students about Intermediate. Year 6 students are happy to hear from older students. This helps our students transition. The project is another way to brings students together and help each other. It shows that students can support and guide each other during big changes, making the experience more positive.
Supporting Technology Across our Kāhui Ako - Primary through to College
This 2022 LBC initiative provided a valuable chance for our primary students to collaborate closely with Long Bay College, exploring and engaging with diverse forms of technology. This collaboration not only introduces them to new technological experiences but also facilitates a seamless transition as they progress towards college.
By joining with Long Bay College, our primary students can gain exposure to a wider array of technological tools and resources.
