Standards are giving technical international concepts for better understanding between different ways to do thinks, although are not mandatory, in Europe if they are included in the harmonization list , have a special status that are somehow mandatory for the Machinery Directive and CE marking.
European Committee for Standardization is one of three European Standardization Organizations (together with CENELEC and ETSI) that have been officially recognized by the European Union and by the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) as being responsible for developing and defining voluntary standards at European level.

Observatorio de Vigilancia de Mercado de UNE publica su primer informe anual
l Observatorio de Vigilancia de Mercado de la Asociación Española de Normalización, UNE, publica su primer informe en el que analiza la situación del mercado en relación con el cumplimiento normativo y legislativo, a fin de evitar la comercialización de productos y servicios inseguros que provoquen un perjuicio a la economía y a los consumidores y supongan una competencia desleal para las empresas que sí cumplen. El Informe vigilancia de mercado ha sido elaborado en colaboración con más de 30 organizaciones empresariales y los Ministerios de Consumo, de Industria, Comercio y Turismo y de Asuntos Económicos y Transformación Digital.
