Unique Contributions of Science to Education

INTASC Standard 6. Assessment: The teacher understands and uses multiple methods of assessment to engage learners in their own growth, to monitor learner progress, and to guide the teacher’s and learner’s decision making.

(Narrative): Science can be intimidating to children, but when they are given choices to explore the learning style that works for them, they come to enjoy the content. Technology has developed over the past few years to provide vast science resources for children. Science For Kids is just one digital resource that offers both children and students lesson plans, experiments, videos, assessments, and science activities based on interests that they can take the lead on.

(Reflection): Science For Kids and other digital science platforms allow classrooms to explore a variety of topics that they may not typically have access to. The more interactive a website is, the more accessible students can demonstrate their understanding.
