*a few of the items above were held for the 2nd class session, when cross-registered students would be present.
Using up to three 4x6* index cards (or half-sheets of paper if you prefer), you will create up to three distinct versions of an interface to *you*: a Design ID. A Design ID must contain information about you and is designed to be understood quickly.
In addition, each Design ID should be inspired by the existing design of an everyday item. For example, you might choose to draw inspiration from a Facebook profile page or a bottle of shampoo. Write your inspiration on the back of the card. Make your versions distinct: each should have a different design inspiration.
Each of your Design IDs must have:
You may interpret these items liberally, and you may interpret them differently on each ID, but they should be recognizable as they are criteria by which the IDs would be judged.
Each Design ID should occupy the blank side of a 4x6 index card.
Sketch! You may use other media (for example, cut and paste), but the goal is to create many versions quickly.
Creating one of your Design IDs should take less 12 minutes.
If your Design IDs were to be evaluated for a grade, it would be based on the variety of ideas explored and whether you have met the above design goals, including the variety, originality, and effectiveness of your Design ID collection. They would not be assessed based on the polish of your product - like most assignments in this class.
